  18. Hennish Says:

So Glad to see this back. I have to say this is an awesome idea and will be a great movie.

  19. I like Zombies Says:

    where are they running to?

  20. Lord Byron Says:

HA! Brilliant! Running zombie! Rage kicks major ass. I hope that running zombie doesn’t bring back all his zombie friends and cause trouble. uh-oh…not shiny. Well, it is, because then there’ll be an amazing fight scene of pic proportions…or at least more Rage kicking ass. I really have no idea what I’m talking about. My brain went *poof* from an overload of brilliance.

Brandon: “bad ass, i read this whole series in a few hours when I first started a couple months ago and its just so amazing. Please make some sort of god damn movie out of this.”

It’s coming to a theater near you in 2010.

Also: Dreamless is brilliant. Brilliant. A comic written by Bobby Crosby and illustrated by Sarah Ellerton… It really doesn’t get much better than that. Can’t wait to see how the story unfolds!

  21. Cicero Says:

    Aww, yeah! It’s back! Woot!

    Later,

  22. Ari Says:

Running zombies? Hmmm, perhaps with no The First Zombie around to control the zombies, they can channel the powers of nearby vamps? IE zombies around Rage start getting super speed!

  23. Bobby Crosby Says:

Re-read Page 6 of the second GN, five pages ago.

  24. koernel Says:

Uh-oh… that ain’t good at all

  25. Zaldaran Says:

    “where are they running to?”

Why to their local library of course! Where they can go on adventure after adventure with the power of imagination and books!

  26. Kaos Says:

Awesome it did start again. and i hope the updates will be more stable. but gotta to be patience since this work isn’t easy to do. just hoping to see more. <X3
Running zombies? well Rage can at least have fun to hunt them down. didn’t he complain they didn’t give him much sport? xD

  27. Summer Says:

Guess that answered the question on the sense of smell being passed on…

    Showdown at the watering hole?

Great to see the new page. Much thanks for the hard work.

    Happy New Year!

  28. Arkus Says:

I guess that means Rage needs to kill faster.

  29. Sci Guy Says:

Let the New Year begin with the awesomeness that is Last Blood updates!
Anko, welcome back, you’re wealth of wit and wisdom have been missed.
Ayashi, if you’re still out there, I would be interested in getting that copy. I’d rather not post my work or personal email publicly, so some other scheme will have to be devised.
Finally, to Bobby and Owen, may your muses never tire or grow fickle (again).
    Sci Guy

  30. Jon Pander Says:

Bobby, very happy to see the comic again :) Not sure why Ari thinks they have super-speed – because of the dust cloud in the running zombie’s trail maybe? I’m just assuming that they’re running as fast as a normal vampire instead and only their sense of smell has become super (like the schaemiac who made them).

    Anyway, my question….
I know that, at least in the comic’s ‘canon’, zombies apparently don’t float, because Francis Murdo didn’t float to the surface – instead he walked along the ocean floor. Also know that normally, dead bodies are buoyant. But I don’t want to assume anything, so I’m asking this.

Are run-of-the-mill zombies (heh) able to swim (or float) if there isn’t a Schaemiac controlling them? Moot point if a schaemiac is controlling them, since they could then use boats, etc., making the swimming/floating question irrelevant.

PS – I don’t remember what city they are located near (other than being in the US). I’m pretty sure Bobby probably mentioned it but my Google skills havent apparently been able to glean the location.

    Happy new year btw.

  31. Pixy Says:

I was waiting for this for SO LONG! ….. i love you guys!!

  32. Brellchild Says:

    WELCOME BACK!

    Jon -

I’d have to go back through the old stuff for the specific name, but it’s somewhere in the Dakotas and if I recall correctly is the writer’s home town.

Zombies that not only run but run *really* fast. Jeez, if they all could run this fast from day 1 of the outbreak then I’m surprised civilization held out for even three days.

Kicking up a dust cloud like that has got to be 20-30 mph bare minimum. Top human is what, 5 or so? And zombies never get tired.

    Definitely not good.

  33. warbunny Says:

    t3h r4wk!

    Big Uncle Rage is back!

    lastblood ftw.

  34. Zaldaran Says:

    “Anyway, my question….

If I remember correctly dead bodies only float because of the gas that builds up from bacteria in the body. They actually sink after a while, or if something has cut open their stomach. I could be wrong though.

‘Kicking up a dust cloud like that has got to be 20-30 mph bare minimum. Top human is what, 5 or so? And zombies never get tired”

I think the world record for human speed is around 20 miles per hour. Again, anybody feel free to look that stuff up and correct me.

I’d still love to see Rage’s reaction if all the zombies had been bitten by a vampire that could fly. suddenly they just all lift off the ground and fly. hrm, I wonder if instead of milling around they’d be floating around instead.

  35. TuJu Says:

I know everybody is going hate when I say it, but I’m still going to do it: this new art style is way too cartoonish. I also do not like the expression that zombies have, there is just too much despair. Zombies shouldn’t have emotions nor they shouldn’t look funny at all – I want serious zombies back!

This is the best webcomic I have ever read, and that’s because of the great plot and artwork. That’s why I want the art style back as it was on page 6 and before on this new graphic novel. I want this great experience to last longer

  36. Brellchild Says:

Fastest human (200 yard dash) clocked to 37 km/h aproximately.

Not sure of the conversion, but I guess 20 something mph could be about right. I was thinking more of sustained speeds though (and probably underestimating them). Marathons and such – which a zombie could run the entire length at a full out sprint and then some.

  37. Phantomancer Says:

I wonder…was Addyson Fucking Paine’s super intelligence a by-product of his vampirism? Are genius zombies next?

  38. Drew Says:

Was so happy to see an update.

    Worth the wait.

  39. joe Says:

    37km/h is 22.99 mph

  40. joe Says:

I think Addison was a genius before hand. If it was a product of his turning, the guy whose name i just magically forgot, Aprils grandfather, would have super intelligence as well. I could be wrong, but he doesn’t appear to be a super genius.

  41. jon pander Says:

phanto: Addison was always a genius. I think Bobby said something about that in the past. Plus he’s a fenius who had centuries to build on the fact that he was a grnius in the firet place — think Albert Einstein or Da Vinci if they had centuries to learn even more and apply that knowledge in practice. :)

  42. jon pander Says:

fenius = genius. Stupid iphone touch screen

  43. jon pander Says:

While i’m at it, genius also= genius and firet=first. Thought these phones are supposed to have spelling correction…

  44. Ren Says:

Phantomancer – From what I understood, Addison was just a genius. It wasn’t a vampiric ability. I believe it’s been said before by Mr Crosby himself.

I’m really, really glad that Last Blood is back in action. I know I’m going to be glued to the story until the end!

  45. Dax Says:

Would be great if the comics were linked together so i don’t have to slog through the random news pages just to find out whats going on again.

  46. brandon Says:

every saturday was supposed to be a new page????

  47. Dillon Says:

Two Days Late… What The Hell?!?! UPDATE!!!!!!!

  48. Jon Pander Says:

Dax: Last Blood is the touching story about a woman in the throes of menopause. Hence the name Last Blood. Oh wait, or it might have something to do with vampires and zombies fighting to save/eat the last few humans left alive on earth. Now you’re caught up.
Choose which background story you like better.

Dillon: Yes. Obviously, we must now revolt. Get the pitchforks and torches! Waiting patiently for updates like mature adults is for lamers! :)

  49. Sam Says:

Damn guys this is what i call a bad start you get everyone riled up about a new steady updating schedule and the you go en fuck it up the arse…

  50. Trevor Says:

I just love this comic and am glad that there are FINALLY new pages. Thanks for making this great story free to the masses and I cannot wait for the next page.

  51. Rob Says:

I don’t mind waiting, really. There’s a new page of Marry Me, +Ev, and Dreamless to hold me over. The fact that they’re actively working on the comic again is enough to suffice me, so what if the update is a few days, or even a week or two late? It’s better than the over six month waiting period we had earlier. :)

  52. Des Says:

Rob…that’s only if we don’t have another 6 month wait for the next page…I do agree with Sam though, kind of a really bad start not having a page ready and posted when it was supposed to be up after they said updates every Saturday.

  53. Altair Says:

    :)
    Last Blood is back.
    And it’s still free.
And Bobby Crosby and Sarah Ellerton are doing a comic together, which I’m still having a fangirl moment about.

Normally, I’m very pessimistic, but I’m having a glass-is-half-full moment here. Patience is a virtue, y’all.

And aren’t we accustomed to waiting by now? Just saying.

  54. ivan Says:

You can wine and bitch about the slow updates, but anyone who read the last GN shouldn’t be surprised by this. With the last GN Bobby had so many projects going on he just got caught up in this thing called life. Now he’s added at least one new comic if not more. He’s got a life aside from Last Blood. Enjoy the comic, check for updates, because they will happen, it’s only a matter of when. or maybe Read it again from the beginning, since it has been a while. And most importantly, the comic gets updated on Bobby’s schedule not ours, DEAL WITH IT!!

  55. John Says:

Seriously ppl who whine and bitch about new post just go fuck yourselves. There are plenty other webcomics out there with new posts maybe check them over and come back here once a week.

    Seriously…

  56. Justin Says:

Just a side note on speed Maurice Greene is the worlds fastest man and his top speed is 27mph. If you figure that they retain at least human strength reduced mass and no need for breath figure 30-35 mph tops. Now this may be abit out there but i think the top speed for a biped is something like 45mph but i may be wrong.

  57. eyelid Says:

question – why is it that the zombies’ blood, which is famously revolting and putrid (see Math’s comments at the beginning of the 1st GN), doesn’t bother Rage? He’s, like, licking it and stuff. Does he just not care? Also, if he’s ingesting the zombie blood, does that satisfy his need for human blood?
