More Movie News

Monday, July 28th, 2008

David A. Goodman is a good man. He’s been nominated for a million Emmys and so on and so forth — use Google.

Just got back from the San Diego Comic-Con. Went very well, sold tons of books.

Been busy and concentrating on launching new comics recently, among other reasons for not much Last Blood lately. New page who knows when. We’ll finish the second graphic novel eventually, but it might take 18-24 months.

Also, there should be even more movie news very soon. If not, I’ll be quite frustrated.

ORDER THE LAST BLOOD GRAPHIC NOVEL RIGHT NOW!

Good Job :D And i agree, Stewie is my fav char. in Family Guy. I love his roll

  2. Bill M. Says:

This… is good news. Much better than finding out that Hollywood is going to butcher The Watchmen.

  3. Kapox Says:

A mix of good and bad news then :/

Sweet deal on the movie but 18-24 months dampen my spirit..

I sure love Last blood though :]

  4. zachy Says:

I love this comic, just the thought of a GREAT movie being made about it just gets me all excited :D

  5. Stevenson Says:

    Oh, HELL YES!
I’m gonna be watching for this to come out. :D

  6. ImpFruit Says:

thats great ill be first in lie for the movie

  7. Leafbeard Says:

Goodman kind of looks like a zombie

  8. Hernando Says:

Well now that comic-con is over i’m sure it’s back to work for you guys, kudos to the article and I’m looking forward to more ‘blood’ work, though I would like to see more of your screenplay and see how you have translated the character development from comic to screenplay. Goodman is a good-man but nonetheless I’d still like to see what your view of the film is, def. looking forward to see what else is coming up, keep us posted and i gotta say from about a year and a half’s work and talk of the big screen things are starting to heat up! once things are set you will have thousands flock to south dakota

  9. Slizarus Says:

    Sounds fantastic.

  10. phooks Says:

I am frustrated that the comic book won’t be going ahead very much, but am enthused about the movie you guys are cooking up.

I much prefer comics to movies. You guys probably make more $$$ with the big screen than with the internet, though, so good luck and just remember if the film industry fails you, many people still love your comics.

All the best with your future.

  11. SEA Says:

    Good news ^_^

  12. Sim^moN Says:

I’m with you wheter you update or not – just keep doing your thing!

  13. Narfen Says:

Well, No matter what happens, I will continually check this site about 2 times a week…

Looking forward to the future, hope everything goes smoothly for ya dudes. :D

  14. Dani Says:

Just wanted to say I’m a fan of this comic, and congrats on the movie deal. I’m looking forward to seeing it! :D

  15. Alan Says:

cool i still cant wait my left eye is leaking with anticipation.

  16. KittyKat Says:

Congratulations! That’s fabulous news. I look forward to seeing how it turns out.

  17. Mathew Says:

Wow I guess the site isn’t dead ;p
Glad to see there are a few of us still checking on a regular basis. Glad to see the comic will be moving on and the movie seems to be coming around as well. I can’t wait for the next strip and the movie, keep up the good work and promiss we’ll keep coming to read : )

  18. Arkus Says:

Oh man, I can’t wait. I’ll be waiting in my mall all day waiting for the first showing to start.

  19. maceo d kat Says:

i just finished reading through your entire run, discovering it just yesterday after hearing news of the movie option.

its a great series, with a real cinematic quality, although thats not very surprising since you considered the early stuff storyboards more than comic.

i’m looking forward to checking back often, and it has been RSS. congrats again on all your hard work paying off and kudos realizing your dream onto the silver screen.

  20. Sami Says:

Congratulations Bobby! I really can’t wait to see the movie! I love your work, you’re a creative genius. Any news on the Marry Me movie yet?

  21. Sci guy Says:

    So,
    Can we preorder tickets yet?

  22. nathan Says:

    i’m sorry?

I haven’t really researched this guy but if he’s been writing Family Guy recently, let’s hope he does better on this

  23. The Aleph Says:

Just found about Lost Blood via io9 today and just finished reading up to this point. Bravo! Any zombie movie that doesn’t have every human as a total oblivious idiot is good in my book. I’ve heard of zombies so if there is an outbreak well shoot them in the head. Bash their brains in, etc. Clever approach with vamp/human synergy. Good luck with the production. Hope you manage some good CG/makeup. And your artist reminds me of Joe Madureira. Just hope the preeminence of end of days movies isn’t some NWO snow job. Keep it coming.

  24. Cyric Says:

“We’ll finish the second graphic novel eventually, but it might take 18-24 months.”

Hmmm so with the current rate of updating pages it means there will be approximately 9-12 more pages … will be a short storry. :p

  25. sco3tt Says:

Ok, I’m in my seat at the theatre now, hurry up and make the movie! I can only survive so long on just popcorn and watered down soda!

  26. Altair Says:

    Moviemoviemoviemovie…

Ok, fangirl moment over. For now.

Finally, I’ll get to be one of those people who was obsessed with the source material before the movie came out and complains about every little detail that’s different. :)

Ok, going down to the theater now with my tent and sleeping bag and camping out in the lobby ’til 2010. :)

  27. Micah Says:

    Sweet.

  28. Ra66it Says:

    awesome sauce!

Gd luck with the movie man, i just hope it makes it here 2 the UK, been a fan since near enough the beginning lol

  29. Great -.- Says:

Great. So basically, your saying your giving up on the comic to focus on this movie deal. How nice, we wait and wait, then tell us “ohhh, no updates for up to two years. But guess what! MOVIE!” Which wont be out in two years if you want it to be any good, or earlier for it to be a piece of shit.

Or maybe your brother the Illustrator is too busy working on the movie too to draw the damn comic? Since you ARE the Writer and do mouse paintings. Thats so much work that will get in the way of working on a movie. Nice

  30. Bobby Crosby Says:

What the hell. You can’t read at all?

“How nice, we wait and wait, then tell us ‘ohhh, no updates for up to two years. But guess what! MOVIE!’ ”

Never in any way did I say anything like that. I said the second graphic novel wouldn’t be completed for 18-24 months, not that there wouldn’t be any new pages until then.

“So basically, your saying your giving up on the comic to focus on this movie deal.”

No, nothing to do with the movie deal. We often go long periods of time without updating and none of that has had anything to do with movies.

“Or maybe your brother the Illustrator is too busy working on the movie too to draw the damn comic?”

What? My brother has nothing to do with the art of “Last Blood.”

  31. nathan Says:

    woo!

Glad Bobby’s being providing all of you with free shit for a while. Goddam it Bobby, give us more free shit or we’re never gonna take any of the free shit you give us later

  32. Patrick Says:

Think I kind of pissed off my girlfriend.. not my fault I got dragged into the story untill the end!
Well the story’s great, the images also. can’t wait to see the movie thought. Hope they will manage it.

Well good luck for the future and don’t forget us!! We want more!

    A newly acquired fan

  33. Moss Says:

I love how people act like it’s their god-given right to have regular updates on something that is free for them to read. Gee guys. How about saying something along the lines of: “Wow, thanks Bobby and Owen for an awesome comic. Looking forward to the next update and movie news.” Quit your bitching and be a little more appreciative. Bobby could always call it quits and then you’d be shit out of luck.

  34. Ethan Says:

I’m in total agreement with Moss. There’s only been one or two people bitching about no updates so far, but it’s still ridiculously annoying to see them complaining about putting a little less focus on a great comic to put effort into making what I’m sure will be a great movie. Good luck with the movie guys, can’t wait to see how it turns out.

  35. Bobby Crosby Says:

You should see the bile filled deleted comments.

  36. Vaius Says:

Wow, thanks Bobby and Owen for an awesome comment. Looking forward to the next update/movie news.

Because…it should be said. (Also Moss is insightful.)

Last Blood is amongst my all time favorite webcomics, I’m positively ecstatic over the thought of a movie. I anxiously (sp?) await the next tidbit of Last Blood stuff!

  37. Sarah Says:

I just spent the last two hours at work reading every single page of Last Blood. Now I have one more hour at work and nothing to do! :(

Can’t wait to see the movie, gratz on that!

  38. Meg Peck Says:

    I’m SO EXCITED!!!! …. I Love your guy’s work!!! :)

    Love Megs

  39. deejay Says:

Yeah I must admit, these trolls are annoying. Though it makes me sad that there aren’t so many updates, I’m still happy cause I know that each seconds that passes brings us closer to a new page of LB. You might have noticed that there aren’t many comments by the regulars. I think most of them have died from LB withdrawal. But I have an even more disturbing theory. What if they’re actually somewhere in a coffin in an ocean, surviving the LB hunger pains, to become internet scheamiacs! And they’ll create LB zombies that feed on LB to survive! And they all have a weird niece in a weird little town that kills them!

I think the lack of LB is starting to affect my mental state. I think the movie will be a good therapy. Rock on, Bobby and Owen.

  40. JustanotherZombiefan Says:

    We waited….we’ve all waited…

  41. JakJak attack Says:

I just read the whole thing – very awesome.
I’m willing to wait for the next page – I’ve waited longer for less entertaining comics to update so I’ve got no complaints. It’s only been a month since the last update. I think we can survive that :)

  42. CatMom ^-^ Says:

Excellent news about the movie! Yeah, I’d like to see new pages sooner, but remember, good things come to those who wait. So far you all haven’t disappointed. Keep up the great work!!!

  43. moe Says:

So how’s the progress on the movie so far. Or is this it. Im excited.

  44. lovliezz Says:

hmm, when are you going to update??? please do it soon! i LOVE it O.O its like crack! …well i’ve never done crack so i dont really know what its like, but still!

  45. Kagedviper Says:

    has last blood died?
or is the movie taking up so much time, you’ve not had any for this?(which would be cool, because then we wouldn’t know the ending if the movie goes past the first issue)

  46. Kagedviper Says:

or maybe, you’ve taken a hiatus for the summer, like so many other comics, that’d be cool too….

  47. Corey Says:

Its been a month since your last update :(

  48. Moss Says:

Relax guys. No doubt Bobby is busy. He does have other things going on besides making the LB comic. We will see more LB, be sure of it. Bobby is in too deep at this point to stop. xD But if you get tired of checking it daily, add it to your RSS feed.

  49. Crow Says:

I understand that this movie project is consuming a lot of your time, but you’re not giving the comic enough attention, if it dies, do you think people will bother with the movie?

  50. Bobby Crosby Says:

LOL. The movie project is consuming exactly zero minutes of my time, as I’ve said, and your question makes no sense on any level. Way less than 0.01% of the people seeing the movie will have ever visited this site, I’m sure. It’s also pure insanity to suggest that someone who likes the comic so much to be upset about a lack of updates would then choose not to see the movie in protest of that or whatever you were trying to say.

  51. Scritty Says:

I don’t care if there’s ever another page, I’m still going to see this movie with some mates. The story so far is fantastic enough that I’ve no doubt it’ll be worth watching.

  52. Moss Says:

Hey. Crow. Ever think that it may not be any fault of Bobby’s? Maybe Owen, or maybe Murphy’s Law is to blame. If you don’t know Murphy’s Law… May God have pity on your ignorant soul. Then again, Bobby may just be lazy. xD

  53. Bobby Crosby Says:

I haven’t written Page 11 yet. I barely even remember the characters and what the story is about. Something about vampires, I guess. Boring.

  54. Moss Says:

Well. I’ll just leave my foot in mouth then.

  55. Mattz Says:

Last Blood lost your interest, Bobby?

  56. Impfruit Says:

    depressing…….

  57. Dan M Says:

I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest that Bobby was being sarcastic there.

  58. RekhytDiowell Says:

“I haven’t written Page 11 yet. I barely even remember the characters and what the story is about. Something about vampires, I guess. Boring”

and ill go out on a limb and say that was a pretty crappy thing to say to readers in general. what the heck was that about anyway?

“The movie project is consuming exactly zero minutes of my time”

so, no updates and no movie, why cant you just admit the concept is dead to you and not waste peoples time.

“Way less than 0.01% of the people seeing the movie will have ever visited this site”

so suddenly your fan base is too small to cover even a hundreth of a percent of what you think the movie, that you arent investing in at all, will bring in?

    yea. pretty crappy.

  59. Bobby Crosby Says:

LOL, what. Have you read none of my posts on this site, including the one you just quoted?

“why cant you just admit the concept is dead to you and not waste peoples time.”

The “concept” is dead? The concept is the only good thing about the story. I’ve said from the start that I hate the writing. And how the FUCK am I wasting people’s time in any way? Wasting people’s time by NOT doing anything? How does that work in your brain? As others will repeat to you, I’m sure, please tell me where the rule is that says you have to visit this site or you’ll go to jail or something.

“so suddenly your fan base is too small to cover even a hundreth of a percent of what you think the movie, that you arent investing in at all, will bring in?”

Huh? No CLUE what you’re saying. If it’s a medium to large budget picture and more than a hundredth of a percent of the film’s audience is made up of people who have visited this site, then that means it’s one of the biggest bombs in history and lost tons of money. You have no brain in your head.

The story fucking ENDED in December — that was the story. More was planned from the start and is still planned, but none of that is in any way necessary. I currently very much hate thinking about “Last Blood” in any way, for a variety of reasons, mostly related to the current nonsense involving the possible film.

Also, I’ve always hated zombies and vampires, as I’ve said many times. Very boring overall to me.

  60. larry k Says:

bravo- why dont you write a story about the mindless morons that write comments like the last one- morons taking over the world- (kinda like our upcoming election)

in my opinion your concept and story was great- if you chose to write on something else i would love to read it- keep us posted-

and dont be too frustrated by the movie industry- 70% dont get to the finish line- and then when they do – they are 30% over budget and 30% behind schedule

  61. Bobby Crosby Says:

It’s more like 99% that never get to the finish line. “Last Blood” will be made no matter what, though, since I’ll be making it myself if need be.

  62. Mattz Says:

But you don’t even like the movie’s main characters!

  63. Jeff Says:

“But you don’t even like the movie’s main characters!”

LOL…yeah, because the main characters are the zombies and the vampires. BULL. The main characters are the humans (even mustache man is more important than the zedheads) The zombies are just plot elements in ANY zombie movie worth watching: They’re predictable, slow, and can be entirely avoided if you follow a few simple rules.

Last Blood is NOT a zombie movie, it’s a horror movie with zombies. There is a clear antagonist, which is NOT the case in zombie movies. Math and Val are the only ‘main’ characters other than the antagonist to be either Zed or Vampire. And look at their fates: (Re?)dead and human. Bobby has said he’s hated vampires…and the 3 main characters who are or become vampires (Val, Math, Murdo) are about as unlike normal vampires as you can get whilst having fangs.

And Murdo the first (TFZ)? He’s the antagonist. You’re SUPPOSED to dislike him, so I don’t see any reason for Bobby to need to like him, especially given the relatively little amount of screen time he gets.

Bobby wouldn’t be self-producing (if required) the movie if he didn’t like the story and the characters.

  64. Bobby Crosby Says:

No, I hate the story and all the main characters. I like Grady and Mac, but that’s about it. The screenplay will be totally different, though, vastly improving the story and the characters. For my version at least, if I end up making it. The comic was worse than a first draft, with almost every page not written until after seeing the art for the previous page. That’s no way to write a story like this, but it was/is (hopefully won’t be soon) the only way I can really write, as I need important deadlines, which is a big reason why I’m not writing anything now — no deadlines anymore for anything. I wrote “Marry Me” the same way, but it was much easier to write and had better characters, so it turned out a lot better.

  65. Lance Says:

Whoa, and here I thought I was missing out. Been a while Mr. Crosby and I’m glad to be back. I can sorta understand where you’re coming from in hating your characters and that the screen play will be an improvement.

Well although I would’ve liked to see a few more pages since I last lost track of the site, no biggie, I’m just proud to say I’ll be a member of that .01% of the population that actually read this comic. Same with Y-The Last Man strangely…Oh well, I’ll check in from time to time for updates, see ya all later. ^_^

  66. PeCetowiec Says:

Hey, it’s been a long time since new page showed up. We want more! We want more! :D

  67. Moss Says:

Yeah… To you people bitching about the lack of updates, please refer to my previous comment. Quit your bitching. No one likes to hear it, it’s only going to piss you off as well because very simply, Bobby does not care about what you have to say if you’re going to be an ass hole and/or stupid. Thank you. Have a nice day, and kindly kill yourself to help purify the human gene pool.

  68. Lance Says:

Gee thanks Moss, really. I was just saying I would’ve liked to see more pages since I disappeared from here like nine months ago and only recently found the site again, but since that apparantly makes me useless to the human race I’d like to tell you to watch what you say to people you have no clue about and kindly go F**K yourself. ¬_¬

  69. Bobby Crosby Says:

Moss clearly didn’t count you in the people bitching. Other people were bitching. You were obviously being nice about it, but now you’re a banned loser for being too sensitive and making clearly wrong assumptions.

  70. RoBearToe Says:

Yeah. I haven’t read the comic since April and there have only been two actual comic updates. Not complaining or anything, it’s obvious you’ll work at whatever pace you like. It’s just that I like the story a lot and would really like to see it progress faster then it has.

    Owen+Bobby=coolgasm

  71. JR Says:

Great comic. Really wish it would get updated.

  72. Sheepy Says:

whats the ETA on a new page anyway?

  73. Moss Says:

Wow. Funny. Yeah, I was referring to the stupidity and venom filled comments, but you’re certainly included now! =D

  74. Jessica Says:

    I love this place.

  75. biz Says:

Why are comics these days so depressed about themselves that they only feel validated by having a movie?

If you like comics, get more people to enjoy the artform, stop selling out to the evils of corporate Hollyweird.

  76. Bobby Crosby Says:

I hate comics and always have. And if you ask “Then why are you doing them?” I’ll kill you. I think I’ve answered that on this page even, and it’s the most obvious thing ever, especially for someone who asked what you just asked. “Selling out,” LOL — you’re a horrible person with no brain. Comics are crap and anything filmed is a billion times better overall. Moving pictures and recorded sound were amazing inventions.

  77. Bobby Crosby Says:

Multiple now banned people have asked why I’m doing comics. Not sure if any of them are actually serious, but just in case anyone really can’t figure it out, it’s entirely to do with movies obviously, as I’ve said in the comments a million times. It’s either to help sell the projects as films or to help raise funds for a film I’d make myself, and partly as an early storyboard. It was/is also a good way to give myself important deadlines to force myself to write, although there’s no more deadlines for “Last Blood,” which is a big reason why I haven’t written a page in ages. Another reason is that at least half the people who read this comic are piece of shit assholes and they happily prove that with the things they say in the comments and e-mails and instant messages. There’s been over 100 deleted/unallowed comments for this page alone. Lately people have just been going completely insane screaming at me for a lack of updates, and these people are so evil and stupid that it’s hard to believe. The worst offender somehow actually thought that there weren’t any pages of the second graphic novel up yet, too stupid to find them.

  78. Ryan Says:

I have a question you might be able to answer, got any info on the movie? I haven’t been able to find anything about it since the announcement of this writer. What kind of release date are we looking at?

P.S. I also hate comics and love movies especially movies based on comics just because a lot of comics have kick ass ideas so i agree 100% with you on that.

  79. Bobby Crosby Says:

“I currently very much hate thinking about ‘Last Blood’ in any way, for a variety of reasons, mostly related to the current nonsense involving the possible film.”

That’s all for now. More details at some point in the future.

  80. ethartwig Says:

I have a question for you. I am a huge fan of BOTH comics and movies. I also have several degrees in the sciences, so you can’t call me stupid. My questions is simple…why piss off your fans like this? I can totally imagine the inane posts/e-mails/IM’s you get…so I am not refereing to those. Read your posts though….people have been following this on-line comic for quite a while..investing time and effort to both read and comment on it. You now come out and say that comics, esp. this one…which your spend time writing by the way…are worthless. What does the illustrator think of what you are saying? How do you expect to sell this as a movie if you act as a wise ass to your fans.,..the people who well then spend more of their time and money to go see your “movie”? I have a newflash buddy…you should try to sell this idea of yours a little better… b/c the more positive press/attention you get the more people who will push for a movie. Remember, the Firefly movie was made b/c fan on the internet signed petitions and WORKED to get it done. Why not try to act positive and get the fanboys on your side instead of against you?

  81. Bobby Crosby Says:

Everything you just said is pointless nonsense and you can 100% definitely be called very stupid, no mater how many “degrees in the sciences” (oh boy!) you have.

“You now come out and say that comics, esp. this one…which your spend time writing by the way…are worthless.”

I never said they’re worthless. I said I hate comics in general and that I hate the writing in “Last Blood” and that movies are a ton better than comics. Obviously comics aren’t worthless — they’ve made me a lot of money in the past year and they’ve led to at least one movie deal so far.

“How do you expect to sell this as a movie if you act as a wise ass to your fans”

Uh, what? Are people still asking this even AFTER the Variety and Hollywood Reporter articles. The assumption that how I act towards my fans (and I’ve never once acted like a jerk in any way to anyone who could conceivably be described as a fan of mine — half the people who comment here have hated me for years, I’m sure) could impact film deals is the stupidest of the stupid.

“the people who well then spend more of their time and money to go see your ‘movie’?”

Jesus, you claim to be such an expert on my comments, but you don’t even read them at all? I already addressed another total fucking moron earlier who said the same thing. If the vast vast vast majority of people who see the movie are not new people who had never read the comic, then no matter what the movie would be a gigantic failure. And anyone who actually implies that a “huge fan” like yourself would not see the movie simply because of not liking my attitude is insanely stupid. I’m a Los Angeles Dodgers season ticket holder and I go to almost every game, and a good comparison here would be to say that I wouldn’t even watch the World Series on TV, let alone go to the games, if the Dodgers made the World Series, just because the owner of the team acted kind of mean at times to assholes. It’s just pure nonsense.

Over 90% of the readers of the comic have never even read a SINGLE comment. Never even read a single comment. The notion that any of this could SOMEHOW impact ANYTHING to do with a film project on any level is retarded, but even if it wasn’t retarded, I don’t give a shit, so it doesn’t matter anyway.

“I have a newflash buddy…you should try to sell this idea of yours a little better… b/c the more positive press/attention you get the more people who will push for a movie.”

Why would I care??? If you’ve read my comments at all on this page alone even, you’d very clearly see that I’m hating what’s currently going on with the film stuff and that I’m wanting to just make it myself (as I planned to do from the start, which was why the idea was thought of in the first place!), which I very possibly will do next summer if I let my deal with the producer run out. I don’t need any help of any kind from fans to make the movie myself, but I’m sure I’d get a lot of offers anyway, as they’re constantly streaming in, many of whom say they love my attitude in the comments, by the way, and how I’m honest and don’t take any retarded shit from idiots like you!

“Remember, the Firefly movie was made b/c fan on the internet signed petitions and WORKED to get it done.”

So once again you prove that you’re a total moron who can’t do the simplest of research? There’s an Extreme Tracking stats button at the very bottom of every single page on this fucking site. Click on it! It will tell you that “Last Blood” currently gets less than 3,000 readers a day. It will also tell you that its high point in December was barely over 10,000 readers a day (in terms of an average for a month). Now tell me how many “Firefly” and/or Joss Whedon fans there were at the time of that petition. There have been only 80 comments on this page in almost two months and at least 10 of those were from me. Nobody cares except a few diehards who are so insane that they completely hate me and threaten to kill me for not writing enough pages.

“Why not try to act positive and get the fanboys on your side instead of against you?”

THERE AREN’T ANY FANBOYS and if there were, the smart ones would enjoy my honest comments. Only the extremely stupid ones like you would turn into a baby and whine about them because you’re so damn sensitive.

  82. Moss Says:

ethartwig… Dude. Seriously, don’t speak about things you don’t know. I’ve followed this comic for several months. I’ve never had an unpleasant thing said to me from Bobby. It’s not fans specifically he lashes out at, just idiotic people who make idiotic comments, as Bobby just stated before. But I figure since Bobby has repeatedly said similar things and people still have yet to listen, I thought I’d repeat it for sanity’s sake, and in the hope that someone would listen. The fans that still keep up with the comic aren’t nearly numerous enough to affect the movie in anyway, shape or form. Maybe if Bobby had hundreds of thousands of people a day, that’d be different. But for the mean time, the majority of the people who check in and post comments don’t even have a basic grasp of English, and can’t be bothered to actually read posts, and instead drive us insane by asking the same questions over and over. Just as you have. And if you really have been reading the comments, you’d realize many before you had tried to point out any mistakes Bobby may have made. Sure, he can bit a harsh, but I’d say that’s justified after answer the same questions hundreds of times over. Bottom line:

    USE SOME FUCKING SENSE.

  83. Bobby Crosby Says:

It’s really incredible how many tiny little babies there are who read a comic that features a vampire eating a zombie’s brain and a pile of a million bodies and many other disgusting things. They can handle almost everyone on Earth being murdered by a psychopath who put himself through decades of torture to gain evil powers, but they throw a hissy fit if someone calls a proven idiot an idiot. I’m sure they’re all Sarah Palin fans.

  84. Rorschach Says:

Different outlets of artistic expression cannot be objectively compared to each other, and it is therefore not quite proper to say that “movies are better than comics”.

Artistic value is not something that is dependant upon the medium by which the art is expressed, it is dependant on the art itself.

While I could understand (though would not agree with) Mr. Crosby’s comments if they meant “movies have potential to be better than any comic” (perhaps due to their dynamic video as opposed to “stagnant” art – a semi-reasonable argument), it certainly does not seem like this is what he is saying with comments like “movies are a ton better than comics”.

I do not know what comics and movies you have been watching, but when reading comics like ‘Watchmen’ or ‘Krazy Kat’ and watching movies like ‘Epic Movie’ or ‘Step Brothers’, it’s hard to say that anything presented on film is better than anything presented in graphic format.

  85. Rorschach Says:

Perhaps I should elaborate a bit before I am banned by Mr. Crosby, though that may be the outcome of my crossing him regardless of anything I say now.

Statements such as “Comics are crap and anything filmed is a billion times better overall” are only valid logically when viewed through the lenses of the belief that different mediums are objectively better than one another, and I do not believe this to be the case. Mr. Crosby seems to think that “moving pictures and audio” are the qualities of movies which make them, by definition and essence, better than media which lack moving pictures and audio. So I have a question for clarification’s sake.

Mr. Crosby, do you think books are, in the same way as ‘graphic novels’, intrinsically inferior to their movie counterparts?

Books are commonly viewed as vastly superior to their movies. The only intrinsic difference between a book and a comic, however is that a comic, quite obviously, has illustrations. I do not see how a ‘graphic novel’ ’s possession of pictures makes it intrinsically inferior to anything presented through the medium of film, but perhaps Mr. Crosby also despises books in the same way he hates comics.

    Once again:
Do you think, as you do in the case of comics, that books are intrinsically better than their movie counterparts?

  86. Bobby Crosby Says:

This was in response to Rorschach’s first comment:

UGH. Feel free to put “In my opinion” in front of all those lines you’re strangely confused about, jeez. Obviously some comics are better than some movies and if you think I think otherwise and if you think I ever even implied otherwise then you’re retarded. Movies are, however, a ton better than comics for many more reasons than simply having the potential to be better because of having moving pictures and sound. They’re also better because, even though almost all of them are horribly made, they’re nowhere near as horribly made as the vast majority of comics, for various obvious reasons. In general the people who make movies are a million times better at what they do than the people who make comics. Obviously most of the people reading this strongly disagree with that and I think you’re all retarded for thinking that.

Also, to the total fucking morons who are going to go crazy whining about this, some of whom will certainly say something about how I’m the devil for thinking I’m so great at making comics, keep in mind that I never in any way said I’m great at making comics and that in fact I’ve said the OPPOSITE on this very page multiple times, I’m pretty sure. The writing in “Last Blood” sucks.

And in response to his second comment: Books are a million times better than comics, for obvious reasons to anyone with a brain. I’ve explained why on various forums many times, don’t feel like wasting time by repeating why here. And, in general, movies are better than books. That’s not to say that film adaptations of books are generally better than the books, but just talking about movies and books in general. The LOTR movies, for example, are a lot better than the books (and I like the books), but the Harry Potter movies are pure shit and the books are the best books ever.

  87. Mr Concerned Says:

You’re forgetting one of the most important things in any business Bobby, which is obviously customer service, the customer which has a mouth tells other people about your product which either sells it or does the opposite… You are doing a great job at doing the opposite.

You can go ahead and delete this post, I don’t care because I know the message got through to you regardless.

P.S. You never know who is looking at your comments so be careful.

    Best Regards

  88. An Actual Fan Says:

I decided to skim the comments…
I can just hope that all the other readers that don’t comment are like me.
Every couple of days I go “I wonder if Last Blood updated yet?”
then I click my bookmark, see the same news article, shrug, and go on with my day.
I mean really, folks. With all the ‘positive’ comments, he clearly has ALOT of incentive to his ‘endearing fans’ to actually work on the comic
Anyways! I look forward to the next page when it gets here. Peace

  89. An Actual Fan Says:

Crap, i forgot to ask, any sorta details on the movie? I apologize if I missed something in the comments, but it’s like trying to find a Cheeto in a shitpile (as oppose to diamond in the rough).
Hard enough time finding posts by Bobby or Moss, and the majority of tose are set on the defense, as oppose to informational XD

  90. Bobby Crosby Says:

Mr Concerned obviously didn’t read a damn thing I said because he has no brain. He’s so happy that a 100% pointless message got through to me. Once again, some people actually like honesty instead of lies. Yes, some people, the very loud people like you, enjoy it when people act really fake and pretend to be nice to people who are acting like huge assholes to them in the hopes of getting money from them. I have no idea why. I’d rather be truthful and I’m quite sure I’ll make more money that way in the long run. I’m not in any of this to make money, or at least not the pennies that can be made from selling books on here. And when it comes to the very large sums of money, like big hit movie money, the writer’s attitude clearly has nothing whatsoever to do with it. A large percentage of the most successful people in the film business are known as giant assholes. And once again, almost no one even reads these comments, so it’s all pointless, but I’d be perfectly fine with everyone reading them. Everyone would still equal almost no one at this point, though, since hardly anyone visits the site anymore.

An Actual Fan: No details to give just yet, or at least not on here.

  91. Alan Says:

you should sell this as a hard cover.

  92. Dan Says:

Alan: the comic or the comments? Both make for an entertaining read.

  93. tec Says:

i don’t care if this comic ever gets updated. shit i just love reading all the bullshit comments people like me leave on this page. why do you people care so much about a comic. don’t get me wrong it’s a cool idea but fuck it’s not the end of the world because there has not been updated in a few months.

  94. kagedviper Says:

so… just to be clear…. this comic is dead, or at least on a very very long hiatus?

also, where will you make movie announcements and such if not here?

  95. Bobby Crosby Says:

“so… just to be clear…. this comic is dead, or at least on a very very long hiatus?”

    No, neither.

“also, where will you make movie announcements and such if not here?”

Wasn’t talking about announcements. Was talking about details about how horribly disgusting the whole thing has gone so far, but no details are required.

  96. Quick idea guy Says:

    Bobby,

I’ve been trying to come up with an idea that makes everyone happy. Fans are pissed off because they’re not getting updates, you’re pissed off because you don’t want to deal with Last Blood or the angry people in the comics, so here’s an idea. My apologies if it sucks.

Open it up to the readers.

Invite people to submit their MS Paint ideas for the next page. They submit them to you, so as executive director you still have total control. Say six people submit pages to you… you pick the one you like the most, fire it to Owen, and he does the artwork, then it gets posted.

That way you still have creative control, you decide where the plot goes and everything, but your work load is drastically diminished, while fans of the comic still get their story.

Just a thought to try and make everyone happy. Back to lurking for me.

    Thanks.

  97. Bobby Crosby Says:

Bad/impossible idea on a hundred levels. And to anyone who insanely gets mad at me for saying that, FUCK YOU, YOU STUPID PIECES OF SHIT (at least a few people will very wrongly think I’m directing that at “Quick idea guy” and not at “anyone who insanely gets mad at me for saying that” because you people can’t fucking read).

    Thanks for the thought, though.

  98. Moss Says:

… Holy hell. Some appreciative people have posted. Oh dear god, hell must have frozen over. Maybe there is a small ray of light in this dank, dreary cave of overwhelming stupidity and unjust anger… (Talking about “An Actual Fan” and “Quick idea guy”.) Wow. You guys just made my day. Thanks.

  99. An Actual Fan Says:

Ain’t it nice to feel appreciated? I’m usually not big on commenting, hell, I’m amazed that you guys even retain the capacity to READ all these comments any more.
I’ve also always avoided the comments here as they used o be riddled with spoilers, now its riddled with… stupid… stupid and angry.
Bobby, I actually wonder if you’re at all like me and take great amusement in some of the posts you rant at. Cuz as irritating as some of them are, I can’t help but laugh as I read and watch them try to jam th square peg in the round hole… repeatedly

  100. Bobby Crosby Says:

    Some are funny.

  101. Moss Says:

… It should be illegal to be as stupid as some of these people are.

  102. Bigwig Says:

Maybe it’s just this comic’s style in general that has attracted the grotesque level of stupidity seen in some of these “fans”. I just checked Marry Me and its comments section and it’s pretty much the exact opposite. Nothing but smiling happy people as fas as the eye can see. It was like walking from a barren, flame-filled wasteland into the fuckin Lollipop Village from Oz.

First time commentor but I’ve been reading both from the beginning. Truly nice work and I look forward to your future projects.

  103. Rorchach Says:

Hey, I guess I came off as an asshole in my comment before, but I want you to know that I really enjoyed reading your comics, Marry Me, Last Blood, and +ER all, and I think that your writing style and plots bring the webcomic quality average way up. I find that you often take cliched situations and whip them around to make them actually interesting and satisfying to read, which is always amazing.

I didn’t mean to come off as aggressive or offensive in my previous comment, I merely thought we could have a bit of back-and-forth reportee, a bit of friendly banter if you will, on your opinions of the objectivity or subjectivity of the quality of different artistic mediums (an interesting topic of covnersation, I thought).

Oh, and I, unlike most of the people who seem to completely piss you off in this comments section, ACTUALLY READ what you said on the FIRST COMIC’S NOTES, about this comic being a story board and planning-phase type of thing for the REAL thing, the movie. That comment really clears up every issue everyone has ever pestered you about here, it’s kind of funny that they never seemed to have read that…

I just wanted to establish that I am a fan, I just diagree with your opinion on comics vs. movies and thought it make an interesting dicussion. The reason I did not use “in my opinion” is because all of your comments were either absolutes or objective statements, and when presenting a point to a man who states his opinions as fact (”anything filmed is a billion times better overall”, for example), would not be a way to come off convincing. I will gladly start claiming my points as opinion when you do the same! =D

Anyways Mr. Crosby, I am enormously proud to say that by your definition I am quite wholly retarded. In fact, the way you conveyed your opinion, it seems that I am likely completely braindead.

“Obviously some comics are better than some movies and if you think I think otherwise and if you think I ever even implied otherwise then you’re retarded.”

“Comics are crap and anything filmed is a billion times better overall. ”

If having a minimal understanding of the English language makes me retarded, then ‘retarded’ definately describes me. The word “anything” goes far beyond ‘implying otherwise’ and makes your statement outright DECLARE that you think ANY THING filmed is better than anything in comic format. That is what you said. That is WHAT YOU SAID.

If you are going to try and pass that off as hyperbole, I must say that it was quite obvious that when you said “a billion” to DESCRIBE your point, you were using hyperbole, indeed. However, your POINT did not seem sarcastic or exaggerated in the least. You stated that “anything” filmed was better than comics. Your words.

  104. Rorschach_ Says:

HAhaha, Quick Idea Guy, that would be a good idea but for the fact that Crosby would likely get two hundered sketches, not 6, and that he would not have creative control any more than the reader of a “choose your own adventure” novel has creative control over the story!

I admit it would be neat to have well-drawn content going up on this website as opposed to nothing at all, but inevitable reader-written dialogue like

“i am math i am vampeer fuk u i kill u now with supar speed and fighting that i use because i am math!”
“u cannt kil me with supar speed because i am lastblood the first zombie and only a werewolfes can kill me. ha ha ha!”

WOULD ABSOLUTELY KILL ANY HOPES AND DREAMS ANYONE EVER HAD.

  105. Alan Says:

hey im just happy your making it please take your time.

  106. Bobby Crosby Says:

“The reason I did not use ‘in my opinion’ is because all of your comments were either absolutes or objective statements, and when presenting a point to a man who states his opinions as fact (’anything filmed is a billion times better overall’, for example), would not be a way to come off convincing. I will gladly start claiming my points as opinion when you do the same! =D”

What the hell are you talking about? I said feel free to put “in my opinion” in front of MY comments, not yours.

  107. Moss Says:

    Rorchach…

A couple points to be made clear.

One, persistence in this case is not a virtue. You’re not going to make Bobby reconcile, nor are you going to prove that he has made any error. You are only going to prove that you are in fact a liar, or an idiot. This point will be clarified in the below statements.

Two, if you’re trying to make an argument, it sounds a lot better if you don’t admit yourself to be a retard, even if to make a point. An argument is much more effective if you do have a strong grasp of the language you’re making a point in. You yourself have admitted that you lack a grasp of the English language. This could leave one to believe that you have also misinterpreted any previously stated comments due to the lack of said grasp. Bobby used hyperbole to state his opinions because he expected people to take them as just that: opinions. The fact that you’re trying to point out the fact that they are in fact opinions is somewhat redundant. Of course, you could just be using hyperbole to state an opinion. Of course, your statement about you being a retard could be taken literally, as you have with Bobby’s statements of his opinions, and interpreted to mean that you state this as a fact.

Also, once again, you’re misinterpreting what Bobby has said. No one was ever confused that you were stating your opinion. You’re the only who seems to get confused by exaggeration being stated as facts and not opinions. No one ever said you needed to clarify, you have only accused Bobby the need there of.

Now then. The fact that you needed these things clarified disturbs me. You’re literally the only one who I have seen that has needed this type of distinction. So this would mean that you have either not read the comments as thoroughly as you claim, or that you are in fact, just an idiot.

  108. Bobby Crosby Says:

Forgot to respond to this earlier –

“Maybe it’s just this comic’s style in general that has attracted the grotesque level of stupidity seen in some of these ‘fans’. I just checked Marry Me and its comments section and it’s pretty much the exact opposite. Nothing but smiling happy people as fas as the eye can see. It was like walking from a barren, flame-filled wasteland into the fuckin Lollipop Village from Oz.”

Maybe on the page you checked, but that’s not usually the case. They’ve actually been fairly similar, and more people have been banned from the MM comments than LB — that’s partly because there’s a lot more readers and comments there in general, though.

  109. Mr. Wasabi Says:

    Interacitivity is cruel…

Mr. Crosby please stop wasting your time by calling people idiots, it makes you look a bit stupid. It’s like telling an elephant that he has a fat ass. It’s only natural that he has a fat ass and it’s also natural that most people are stupid.
So stop spending your precious time by doing something you hate, you already wasted enough of it by doing a lots of comics you hate.
I mean by every word you say you just seem to be very silly. This nothing against you but…lets just collect the facts:
    - With Last Blood you did something you hate (zombies, comics, vampires) for months for people you hate (why didn’t you just work for Mcdonalds?).
    - You tell people, you apparently don’t care about, your opinion . Umh…yeah it’s like talking to a wall (perhaps you should give it a try?).
    - You must be already rich and your movie (that don’t even exists yet and in my opinion will never really be produced) is already a huge success ( and I’m sure a lot of people will be interested in just another “stupid” zombie movie) otherwise you would need every single idiot who is interested in your work. And I’m sure only idiots like your work, it’s not really good like you said a couple of time before, or why are you still making comics instead of something you like?
    - Nobody cares about your truth and wants to hear it (except for entertainement, people are so gleeful).
    - With every word you read here you just hate everything more, but you still do it. Kind a self-destructive, isn’t it?

Okay, so far so true, but why am I telling you this stuff? I don’t even like you, but I liked the comic for a while, because sometimes I prefer comics instead of books or movies. I#m not saying comics are better then books or books are better then comics (that would be “stupid”, I don’t want to dicuss it, I discussed it before, my opinion is longer then yours), but they are sometimes more entertaining.
This is my “thank you” for entertaining me for a short while (don’t want to give you money, because you are right the story is certainly too bad to pay for it).

    So enjoy your life.

  110. Jade Says:

Update already D= I’ve been checking this comic everyday hoping for an update! I don’t want to finish watching the movie before I finish reading the comic.

  111. Cody Says:

    Yoho all.
i gave up reading comments around the #88 comment mark.
all I have to say is I am not a fan of this comic, but I did enjoy reading it (great time killer) and I dont reeeeeeeally care if it gets updated or not, or what ever happens to the movie.
If it does get updated, i will read it… eventually who knows.
and too many of you people are whiney little bitches.

  112. DNICK Says:

MAKE SOME MOAR OF THIS GOOD SHIT

  113. Someguy Says:

    There’s so much drama here!

  114. JT Cool Says:

Wow. Is this comic dead or on hiatus? I won’t bother to check the comments since I really shouldn’t have to for something as simple as this.

  115. An Actual Fan Says:

Wasabi, I sense great irony in your commentary…

“- Nobody cares about your truth and wants to hear it (except for entertainement, people are so gleeful).”

And nobody wants to hear you, but they let the comments through anyways, and he world keeps turning.
If you don’t give a damn, don’t read it. If you’re coming to Last Blood going, “Boy howdy! I sure hope that there is some entertaining comment!” you need to go out more… maybe play a video game, maybe take up a hobby…

    I like Cody’s comment, it’s not obnoxious.

JT, if youse in so much a hurry that you can’t take 5 minutes to skim and find Bobby’s comments, how the hell did you have enough time to read the comic in the first place?

  116. Alan Says:

oh my god guess what i just realized Mr. Wasabi!

no one cares what you have to say jack ass.

  117. Mike Says:

Great to know someone paid attention to your work! But, what happened? There is not gonna be any more Last blood? at any rate congratulations, and I hope you succed.

  118. john salchichon Says:

hahahahahahaah xDDD “Comics are crap and anything filmed is a billion times better overall” u are a fucking moron bobby xDD have u read watchmen? v for vendetta? hellboy? have u watch epic movie? the hottie and the nottie?
I know that that’s ur opinion, and I should respect it and all that crap, and I’m also sure that this comment will be banned, but it doesn’t matter cos i only wanted to tell u that you are an idiot, bobby. A big fucking idiot :)

btw, harry potter 1,2,3 and 4 are good, the others are pieces of shit

  119. Bobby Crosby Says:

The best book by far is “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.” You have no brain whatsoever inside your head.

  120. Nicolas M Says:

Agreed with bobby ’bout the HP book, tho i liked also the final book.

Hope you do great with the movie, but i also hope that u can make some more comics, cuz they rock.

  121. Kenny C. Says:

Hey, um, I know you’re busy with the movie and all, but do you think you could update this main page, even with news or even just a blurb, once a week, even once every two weeks? I’d like to at least know you guys are still workin’ away on the stuff, and aren’t just dead.

  122. Bobby Crosby Says:

See? Even the people who comment don’t actually read the comments.

  123. An Actual Fan Says:

Don’t worry Bobby, I still love you.

  124. Dan M Says:

I kind of understand what Bobby means about movies being better than comics. I kind of feel the same way. Comics are nice and all, but still images on a page just don’t have the versatility of moving pictures and sound. Obviously, this doesn’t mean all movies ever made are inherently better than all comics ever made. It just means that movies are overall the better creative medium, at least from a writing perspective.

Now, regarding the lack of updates, I really don’t see the issue. Just subscribe to the rss feed. You’ll know right when/if another update comes; no need to come visit the same page every day with your fingers crossed. Look, it’s a great comic and all, but if you really hate waiting for a new page that badly, let me make another suggestion: go outside and do something else for a while.

  125. Nico Says:

Earlier, you stated that the level of stupidity in the comments here may be because of the comic itself.

    It is.

Marry Me has such friendly fans because it is a romantic comedy.
People who read it are looking for happiness.
You updated regularly and so they always had their fix.

Last Blood is targeting the horror/action groups.
They tend to be arguementative and impossible to satisfy.
You just have to ignore most of your fans in this case as they complain just to see if they can spurn you on to the next extream.
Why do you think the explosions get bigger and the body counts more gory? Movie makers know that their fan base will complain and stop watching if you don’t wow them every step of the way.

    Last Blood is excellent.
Don’t worry about all the complaints.
You’re good at what you do.
    Keep doing it.

  126. Jon Pander Says:

Hey ho, thought I’d comment on here again. Happy to see the movie news. I don’t mind that it’ll take a bit longer on the webcomic for updates. What I was concerend about was this:

Bobby said: “I haven’t written Page 11 yet. I barely even remember the characters and what the story is about. Something about vampires, I guess. Boring.”

Clearly, Mr. Crosby has forgotten what the comic was about. Fortunately, as a devoted fan, I am here to remind him. Last Blood is about the trials and tribulations of a woman going through menopause. I don’t know where you got this ‘vampire’ thing from. Might be slang that you crazy kids are using nowadays, I dunno. Anyway, the webcomic in question is very touching, following the life of 43 year old Mary Wilkinson as she mourns her last period. I laughed, I cried, I’ve tried in vain to get Bi-curious girls to send me suggestive posts here like they did on Marry Me.

I’m glad I could be helpful, sir.

Bobby also said: “No, I hate the story and all the main characters. I like Grady and Mac, but that’s about it.”
Mac. AKA batman. My favorite character as well because of his sheer awesomeness.

Bobby also happened to say: “That’s no way to write a story like this, but it was/is (hopefully won’t be soon) the only way I can really write, as I need important deadlines, which is a big reason why I’m not writing anything now — no deadlines anymore for anything.”
I do the same thing when I was in law school – I only actually studied … hell I only opened the books… when something was actually do or a test was coming up. It’s hard wired into (most) human DNA, I think.

Some dumb guy who I can’t be bothered to look at the name of said: “Remember, the Firefly movie was made b/c fan on the internet signed petitions and WORKED to get it done.”

Actually, that was me. I went to Joss Whedon’s house and threatend to break his legs. He stood fast. Knowing that I did not want to repeat the book “Misery,” I tried a different tactic. He caved in once I held the blowtorch to his family. I don’t think Bobby’s as big a wimp so I’d rather not try that tactic on him. He sounds tough. Like…. Snake Bliskin tough.

Which prompted Bobby to say: “There have been only 80 comments on this page in almost two months and at least 10 of those were from me. Nobody cares except a few diehards who are so insane that they completely hate me and threaten to kill me for not writing enough pages.”
I was of course kidding about the ‘breaking legs’ thing. Please don’t call the cops on me. I wouldn’t last in prison. I’m fragile. I don’t want a tattooed Aryan Brotherhood boyfriend named Bruce.

  127. Erika Says:

    A: I Love this Comic
B: I’m Scared to death of Zombies But I AM SO GOING TO THIS MOVIE.
& C: I don’t mind the lengthy wait, I have many other comics to read in the mean time. ^__^ For ne one who has an issue w/ the wait and want some Zombie love go to http://www.thezombiehunters.com
Not as great and No vamps, but will satisfy ur Zombie Cravings.
    ^__^
    Much love
    OH &&&&

“Wow, thanks Bobby and Owen for an awesome comic. Looking forward to the next update and movie news.”

    lol

Take care and I hope to see some more Awesome stuff.
    ^__^

  128. An Actual Fan Says:

I just realized that I apparently started the Comment Revolution of people actually commenting about liking the comic. Well, as far as this page is concerned, I’m not reviewing the others

  129. Dan M Says:

Weird. Before this page, I never even read the comments. Now I subscribe to them. :P

  130. Deathbringer From The Sky Says:

… wouldnt it be time form the next part plz?

  131. An Actual Fan Says:

no Deathbringer. It’s time for YOUR next part!

  132. Sicarius Says:

And then Deathbringer was a zombie.

  133. Bobby Crosby Says:

Lying piece of shit banned person says, “And now your excuse is no one asks you to update? What kind of crack are you on.” Never in any way have I said that there’s no new pages because people don’t ask for them. Never at all ever to any degree. I very clearly said that no one asks for pages as a reason for why the amount of current fans who see the movie would be 100% meaningless, because there’s not enough of them to matter at all. This is obvious to anyone with a brain. He also got several other facts very wrong.

  134. An Actual Fan Says:

Sicarius: I wasn’t gonna say it myself, thank you.

Bobby: I’m waiting in delight at what kind of Idiotese this comment is going to be translated into. I’ve been looking at this, and tabloids at work. and it’s like mirror images.
I think it HAS gotten to the point where the line between general stupidity and trolling – as vague a line it was – is completely gone.

If you decided to mention that you had a garden and used free-range manure as fertilizer, it’d be translated back as “Bobby Crosby spreads filth”

  135. Deathbringer From The Sky Says:

Err… Im just wondering why isnt this site updating anymore? I remember times when a new part came every fift day or something….

  136. An Actual Fan Says:

Deathrbinger: I got two words for you: lurl moaar.
Just skim through the comments, and look for the one’s posted by Bobby Crosby.
It’s been 2 months, isn’t there some kind of function in your mind that might make you think it had already been addressed?
Just do this, for Bobby. Give him one less person he wants to collectively stab in the face by now

  137. Impfruit Says:

    well that time is over

  138. Jon Pander Says:

Bobby, when dealing with people who are giving moronic complaints, just remember these wise words:

“Man invented language to satisfy his deep need to complain.” – Lily Tomlin

  139. MadJackal356 Says:

so personally it’s sad that i have no time on my hands that i’m actually writing this. i don’t really have a any complaints, i think your buisness strategy is brilliant, and i admire your ambishion to become a film maker…. and although i enjoyed the comic i don’t really care that you haven’t made a new page….. I have a life, but just out of curiousity what made you come up with the idea of the story?

I figured you needed a better comment than complain about not having info on a movie that wont come out for a long time.

  140. Rob Says:

Can you add an e-mail subscription update notification to your site? That way those of us who enjoy the story can be notified when the next page is put up? If you’re going to take a while to update, that’s fine and understandable. But, those of us who aren’t “fanatics” would appreciate an alternative to checking the site regularly only to be disappointed.

    Thanks.

  141. Moss Says:

Rob: There’s an RSS feed subscription at the bottom.

ModJackal: Without a doubt in my mind, Bobby has probably answered that in the past on a previous comment. My advice: Google. =D

  142. anonymous Says:

and like that, the story comes to a grinding and unsatisfying halt.
an action scene that has a (number of months) pause for effect?

  143. ayashi Says:

It’s funny, my college thesis was seriously titled “The 1nternet Makes U Stupid.” It went in depth to how the younger generations are so easily influenced and addicted it, how it ruins how language is perceived (If I see another u instead of a you I’m going to barf), and how the most avid contributors to online communities are idiot fucking prepubescent virgins who haven’t seen the sun in 7 years.

I got a C+ on it because my professor had no exposure to examples like this, or had ever tried to decipher text message lingo. He disagreed with my theories and said it’s impossible for web-based communication to cause someone to exhibit less intelligence than in real life because “internet users are allowed to read what they typed and rephrase it to perfection, while having all the information involving what they are responding to readily available for convenient research; if anything the internet would prompt more concise and intelligent behaviors.”

Fuck that idiot professor. Moss I feel bad for you for taking the good cop middle-man role in an attempt to correct this evidence of failed natural selection. I’d have lost my sanity without the ability to ban people.

Bobby when you’re famous I humbly ask that you at some point mention to the media “The internet makes you stupid.” I’ll bet you can accurately gauge the ages of the endless masses of COIs (Contributors Of Idiocy) at this point. Is it even worth responding to anonymous’s brutal but generous example of this theory?

No, because he’s an idiot, on the internet, and it will only get worse.

Here’s to hoping things work out for you Bobby. And Owen if you even read these dismal things, know that you’re a gifted artist.

Now excuse me, I MUST GO BACK 2 TEH INTARN3T!!!11 *poof*

  144. Bobby Crosby Says:

“internet users are allowed to read what they typed and rephrase it to perfection, while having all the information involving what they are responding to readily available for convenient research; if anything the internet would prompt more concise and intelligent behaviors.”

This is what I’ve been saying for years. This is why I much prefer to talk on instant messages instead of with voices to anyone who I might be trying to impress. That’s also because I type incredibly fast, though, which gives me even more time to read things over and think things out. But the same principle applies for e-mails and forums and posts like these, of course. Anyway, the professor is right, but most people don’t even try on the internet, just like they don’t try anywhere else. Most people are retarded in general and I think they’re WAY more stupid in person than on the internet. They simply seem to be more stupid online because all of their retarded thoughts are actually written down for people to read, and because there’s so many more of them. Online a lot of people feel less fear, of course, with stating their opinions, so they state them all over the place. The internet doesn’t make you stupid at all. It just more clearly reveals the stupidity of most retarded idiots.

  145. ayashi Says:

Picturing his reaction if I titled the thesis “The internet doesn’t make you stupid at all. It just more clearly reveals the stupidity of most retarded idiots.”
Has a nice ring to it I think, if it would’ve fit.

The professor IS right in his logic, but I think he’s wrong in assumptions that it’s utilized. I agree it’s because they don’t try, hiding behind the their mighty keyboards has turned 10 year old virgins into “their’s a girl under my desk right now and I’m drinking beer as I type this” sociopath e-miscreants. I kind of look at it like that kid who talks shit to the bullies behind the safely tinted windows of mommy’s lexus.

Only the lexus turns into a clown car and a ton of like-individuals come stumbling out of it honking eachother’s noses and demanding updates. You could even change the “post comment” button to read “Scroll up and read, idiot ass child” and get the same depressing results. Definitely Palin supporters.

  146. josh Says:

are we never going to get another update again on this comic?

  147. PhoenixTB Says:

What was that, 130 pages? somthing like that? Anyways, I’m pretty damned sure that was the best 130 pages of comic i’ve ever read. And i get bored really easy so i read alot of comics. Shame you dont think it’s worth it any to continue it.

Oh and, Way to add in a few extra laughs with the stupid bashing in like, what, 90% of your comments?

And for the record, I think you’re an (idiot/moron/retard [whichever you would prefer]) for thinking the writing sucked. But what’ev. Peace.

  148. Impfruit Says:

    don’t think so mate

  149. Rick James Says:

Mr Bobby Crosby why must you be the screen door on our sumerene of happiness?

note to self learn how to spell submarine.

  150. Ash Says:

thank you everyone for that very long, very heated, questionably enlightening thread. It was an odd read, for sure.

  151. Moss Says:

Ayashi: First off, thanks for the sympathy. And I agree and disagree with your thesis.

In the aspects I agree, you see people of all ages, assuming their alter-ego and acting as if they’re the coolest person ever, and can kick anyone’s ass. These people need to die, as they’re probably leeches of society in reality. A prime example of this is the popular game World of Warcraft. Evidently in this game, the power of your character equates into real-life badassery and intelligence. So you have people who are amazingly great at the game, but are still fucking morons who think otherwise.

In the aspects I disagree, you see young people of all ages (kids from ten years of age to sixteen, specifically), acting more mature and intelligent than most adults. A prime example of this is a popular website known as Newgrounds.com, which is the internet’s largest collection of flash games and cartoons. The majority of users are in their early to mid-teens, and many are surprisingly mature and intelligent, many creating professional grade work with flash programming and posting constructive and useful ideas on the forums.

So all in all… The internet is similar to real life in that we have both idiots and intellectuals. The difference is, in the internet, the idiots are much more pronounced.

  152. policyvote Says:

    Wow.

I’m a big Marry Me fan who just ripped through all of this . . . I liked it quite a bit–and as a father, there were some parts that were really really really intense for me. The concept and plot were outstanding, and the art was perfect. On the whole, I really really liked this story and I’m sad it seems like Bobby’s fed up with it.

Bobby, I can see why you’re disappointed with how some of the dialogue and characters came out, and I agree that some changes are definitely in order. But this comic, as-is, hit some wonderful high notes, and I hope you don’t give up on it.

    Peace
    policy

PS–sorry if that all makes me a stupid fucking retard moron nincompoop or whatever. ;)

  153. Jessica Says:

Hopefully this movie thing falls through. Its a great story and with the right graphix to would make a very scary kickass movie!!!!

  154. AL_Tech Says:

I’ve been visiting you’re site for a while, Thank you for the enjoyable story.

My kids and I liked it very much :)

Be well and God bless ;-D

  155. Jorid Says:

love the comic, especially the new one. The color is really sweet!

just wondering if the comic is still alive. i mean, updates have been getting few and far in between, and the last one was months ago. :( please let this not be true!

    looking forward to more updates!

  156. chito esguerra Says:

    I’m a comic fan!!!! GRAAAAHH!!!
AND I”M DAMN PROUD TO BE ONE!!

..Being a Filipino doesn’t really help my fanboy cause. Good stuff hardly reaches our good damned archipelago.

Fortunately for me, during a boring work day, i stumbled upon the magic of ON LINE COMICS!.. how this massive genre has evaded me all these years, i don’t want to know.

I’m catching up thou. Started with Questionablecontent.net and Choppingblock.org. DOwned both titles in days. So good.

And now i just went through another one.

LAst Blood is amusing to the maximum!
Hope the creators never tire. Hope the Artist never quits!

Awesome stuff!! SOmething definitely worth sharing c:

  157. Rick Says:

    Hmmmm….

I think I’ll keep this simple and hopefully not make the mistakes of others who have been banned or received a one of Bobby’s scathing responses at their idiocy (which I’ve loved by the way…Bobby’s responses, not the idiocy of others).

Bobby: I enjoyed reading the first “Last Blood”, and look forward to seeing the movie, be it from the deal that apparently isn’t going well or your own production. I understand you didn’t like the writing, but I think it did a good job of representing the characters and story.

Owen: (and if he doesn’t read the comments, could someone pass this on to him?) Amazing artwork. Definitely worked well with the story and characters.

To you both…I didn’t have time to read every comment on every page, skimmed now and again, and I’m happy to say that every time I saw a comment from Bobby explaining something that others didn’t get, I was able to say “but I did get it, why didn’t they”?

Great work both of you, I’m looking forward to hopefully seeing more “Last Blood” in the future, (crap, I know this next part isn’t going to come out right), if and when you return to it.

Moss: nice comments from you as well, been good to see at least one of Bobby’s supporters “getting it”.

  158. Angkochan Says:

Well, the comic was fun, watching the unending gore from the mindless slaughter of zombies never seemed to get old, especially since I managed to read the whole thing in one afternoon. A movie with that kind of violence and blood will be a riot to watch, I’d love to see it some day. Whenever it happens.

  159. Nohbodie Says:

On the topic of dumb people on the internet, I really find that I’m more of a retard on the internet then I am in real life. But I guess it’s only because I take the internet less serious since you can’t really get punched in the face for saying to wrong thing at the wrong time. To me it’s the internet; and hey! What do you got to lose on here? You could act like someone totally different then you are in real life, or you could be that stupid racist dude that everyone hates. And to think about it, no one will ever know who you are or how you actually act in real life. For me I try to be someone different everytime I get the chance to.

Also, I’m not usually this smart or discussive >,>

  160. Vulcanis Says:

Hey Bobby, it was cool to meet you at Comic Con earlier this summer and I hope all things are well.

The biggest complaint I lolled at was the “you’re probably already rich now anyway” Some people just don’t get it.

And no, the internet doesn’t make you dumber. It just better elucidates your lack of intelligence. I’ve often notice that I take people on the internet a lot less seriously if their spelling is terrible and they can’t seem to form a sentence. The term “Troll” comes to mind.

Anyway, continued congrats for getting a comic noticed by the right people and also coming up with a unique and fun take on zombie and vampire literature.

  161. Joe Sixpack Says:

From the first moment Mr. Crosby said that he didn’t know or care about the origin of vampires in this universe, you all should have stopped complaining about updates or worrying about the end of the comic. Mr. Crosby has stated time and time again that he doesn’t give a shit about this comic, the characters, or the storyline.

So, if he doesn’t care about any of it, why should you?

Why should you buy a book? He doesn’t care.

Why see the movie? Bobby certainly doesn’t care about it or the audience.

To conclude, Mr. Crosby, if you don’t care, then why not leave? Why continue to comment and insult us if you hate us all? Please go, Mr. Crosby. I loved this comic, but you have killed it. No amount of good story (which it has), creative characters (of which there are many), or wonderful art (among the best out there, by my opinion) can heal the damage you have wrought by simply not caring.

  162. Zudo Says:

    Ra Ra Ra Godzilla!

    In other news…

    Hi.

  163. Herbert Carstarphen Says:

This has to be one of the most awsome comics that I’ve ever read! I’m serious everything from the premise to the action to the mindless vionlence and mayhem. What’s even more kick ass is that you guys are going to the big screen. I just hope that they don’t gay this up like they did with Spawn. You guys are fucking awsome whoo! Yeah I’m pretty much done but awsome, awsome, awsome work and I look forward to more, and your movies too.

  164. Miguel Angel Kleist Says:

I really love this comic and the movie news are great, but there have been quite a long time since the last update… it would be great if you can post some new pages soon. Regards!

    M.A.K.

  165. Sci Guy Says:

Hey Ayashi, could I have a copy of that paper? I would be very interested in reading it.

It is fascinating; this comic is a perpetual motion machine of entertainment. First, it entertains when it is updated; this is its highest, most stimulating form.
Second, it entertains after not updating for an extended time when the annoying, fair-weather-fans crawl out of the woodwork to complain and move on; this is its more humorous form.
The result is a constant stream of enjoyment, for some of us at least.

My one complaint: where is Anko? Did she take a vary extended vacation? Anko, your scathing wit and knowledgeable comments are greatly missed.
Lastly, to Bobby; for someone who does not enjoy what they do, you do an exceptional job.

  166. Ebony Says:

That’s cause the smart people on the internet stay away from comments! :D And, yes, I realise what that implies of myself… D:

  167. Ebony Says:

*shaking fist* Curse you smilies… you’ll get yours…

  168. DrBry Says:

Hey man awesome comic. Just wanted to give you my support and let you know there is at least one less retard on the net. As for comments on the movie please please please don’t let it be directed by Owe Bull or Shamalon.

  169. Phantom Says:

It’s been 4 months and 1 week since the last comic page was posted.
Just to keep track, that’s 128 days.

Yes, I am very grateful for the free graphic excellence.
No, I don’t mean to be a jerk (what would that accomplish).

Also, I concur with Moss. The internet is an easily accessible medium for anyone to voice their opinion, and many people who are opinionated don’t follow logic.

  170. Leana Says:

I have to say I enjoyed this comic immensely. I always hate it when things end, but I can’t really see where this one will go after having defeated Francis, but yes I can because I have a great immagination! I fear zombies, they are the things I fear the most…. other than horribly written fanfiction, or any fanfiction for that matter oh no! don’t worry I will be okay…

once again thank you for writing! keep it up!

  171. Moss Says:

Wow. I’m surprised by the positive feedback as of late, especially directed towards myself. Thanks, guys. Nice to know there are other reasonable people out there.

Nohbodie: Yes, while there are fewer consequences for acting stupid on the internet versus real life, doesn’t mean it’s justified to act the way many do. That’s a point I forgot to mention, so thanks for bringing it up.

    Joe Sixpack: You’re an idiot.

Phantom: Sadly, everyone has a right to an opinion… I wish they’d make a law to fix that.

  172. FOOLISHWORLD Says:

I’m still gonna keep checking back from time to time because LASTBLOOD is the best comic out there …hands down!!!Can hardly wait for the movie (god please don’t let Shamalon direct/reck it) to get on the big screen so we can get some more issues.PLEASE don’t stop this web comic when you guys become rich & famous.THX

  173. Codex Says:

I’m just glad that the story progressed to an actual conclusion. I have read a lot of comics that die off and disspear in mid-climax.

For what I recieved, I thank Mr. Crosby.

And that’s all I have to say on that… I’m sorry if this results in anger.

  174. Bobby Crosby Says:

“From the first moment Mr. Crosby said that he didn’t know or care about the origin of vampires in this universe, you all should have stopped complaining about updates or worrying about the end of the comic.”

So fucking stupid. And you could have come up with so many better quotes from me that would actually help your point, but instead you say that nonsense? What about someone who was writing a story about mice or about HUMANS and they said they didn’t know or care how mice started or how humans started? It’s the EXACT SAME FUCKING THING. There’s no conceivable reason for anyone to be upset or annoyed in ANY WAY with me saying that I don’t know or care about the origin of vampires. It’s not in any way important to the story, but I did give you one of the only interesting origins for zombies ever written, so you’re welcome! And everything else you said was retarded obviously.

  175. Random Surfer Says:

Just chiming in to say that i really like the comic and that I wont bitch about updates and instead enjoy what’s there.

Best of luck to ye, and cheers for a great story.

  176. Rob Says:

Someone once (at least) asked George A. Romero what the real origin of the zombies in his Night of the Living Dead series was. He replied, “I don’t care.” His response was greeted with cheers.

Origins and explanations aren’t always important to the story or the characters.

Hopefully you’ll find the thread of this story again and complete it. If not, at least the first book was good.

  177. Anonymous Says:

    Happy Halloween, Bobby.

I thought maybe All Hollows Eve has inspired you to write, but if not, I don’t care. I’ll treasure my memories of reading the first novel and move on.

As for the people bitching about you not knowing the origin of vampires, fuck them. I’ve read plenty of fantasy books where the origins of races aren’t explained, and love them all the same. Personally, I don’t really give a shit where they came from, as long as they keep kicking ass. Good luck, and I hope you find your inspiration soon.

  178. ayashi Says:

Sci: I have a copy of the written portion if you’d like me to email it

  179. hahahaha Says:

Hey you ! out there in the cold
Getting lonely, getting old, can you feel me
Hey you ! Standing in the aisles
With itchy feet and fading smiles, can you feel me
Hey you ! don’t help them to bury the light
Don’t give in without a fight.
Hey you ! out there on your own
sitting naked by the phone would you touch me
Hey you ! with your ear against the wall
Waiting for someone to call out would you touch me
Hey you ! would you help me to carry the stone
Open your heart, I’m coming home
But it was only a fantasy
The wall was too high as you can see
No matter how he tried he could not break free
And the worms ate into his brain.
Hey you ! out there on the road
Always doing what you’re told, can you help me
Hey you ! out there beyond the wall
Breaking bottles in the hall, can you help me
Hey you ! don’t tell me there’s no hope at all
Together we stand, divided we fall.

  180. Kapox Says:

    Joe Sixpack: Wtf?

If Bobby “doesn’t care” and has “abandoned” the comic and its readers then why are you still here whining?

Posted my first comment on this single page in july. Since then I’ve been checking back now and then to see if anything’s up. I suggest you do the same or GTFO. Whining won’t help and I bet refreshing the page all day long won’t help either..

  181. Draconas Says:

    UPDATE YOUR DAM COMIC

  182. KayRis Says:

I find it somewhat hilarious that, after months of being patient and not checking the comic for hopes that I would have multiple pages to read, it stil says “there should be even more movie news very soon.”

  183. foolishworld Says:

Duh…like he’s not busy working on the movie & stuff & uuuhhh..like maybe they got him.Duuhhh…oh no!!They GOT HIM!!!!!!!!!

  184. foolishworld Says:

    Yea guys…Duuhhh…like maybe he’NOT workin’on the movie??(you f’n ‘tards)

  185. JImmy Says:

New to reading last blood. i’ve always been a fan of anything vampire. once i found this site i couldn’t stop reading. Great idea to do something new with a vampire. i must have more, and i must see a movie. BRAVO!

  186. Cody Says:

    Yoho
So I thought it be time for the captain to check in on this here comic.
still nothing, seems to still have them whiney little bitches.
I think they need to be… destroyed?.
well seeing as how nothing has been changed (just the way I like things) Im going to shower cause work was the shits. then get stoned. then probly re read the comics. like i usually do.

  187. Djjiggens Says:

ayashi: Now, I don’t think the internet lowers your intelligence directly. But it DOES lead to increased laziness when shortening words or phrases such as “Be back later” or “Got to go”, etc. However, this laziness can definitely lead to a decrease in intelligence, whether or not it may be permanent.

Negative Commentators: Shut up. Until you try managing multiple webcomics and a movie, among whatever else Bobby has on his plate, you don’t get the privilege to comment.

    Positive Commentators: No comment

Neutral Commentators (i.e. Wasabi): Uh, no comment again I suppose.

    Bobby: Few suggestions…

    a) Quit looking at the comments. Whatever has to be asked regarding the comic’s continuation has been answered, along with the movie info. Frankly, if commentators are too lazy to look for what you said, it isn’t your responsibility to respond.

    b) If you have to, you could simply officially put the comic on hiatus. If you did, not only would it give readers a solid answer, but it would give you some breathing room. (if you need it, that is.)

Just suggestions, mind you. Good luck with whatever you’re doing.

  188. nyon Says:

    @Bobby

Just finished reading Lost Blood, i loved it, congratulations, i will see the movie for sure, and i hope it becomes as gore as i imagine.

In this page you said the second volume will be finished in 18-24 months, is this timetable still up?
Is it possible to set up a newsletter, so we can know when you start publishing new pages?

    Thank you

  189. Tanaar Says:

Right, I don’t care about all the assholes who’ve been being pretty stupid of late, but I followed Last Blood 1 pretty enthusiastically. I’m excited for the possibility of a movie.

Any movie news or updates for us Bobby? You’ve said you’re not spending any real time on it yourself, but surely there’s something worth telling those of us who “get it”. Even if its just to say that progress is being made.

  190. Slotty Says:

    Hey Bobby,

This comic is great, I really like the Zombie origins very unique. Anyway I live in Australia and I just read every comic you’ve made available instead of studying for my University (college) finals.

Great work man I can imagine that the movie screenplay is taking up alot of time I just hope to see the comic return to it’s regular routine.

Peace out man and great work

  191. Confusedmotherfucker Says:

The fuck is going on here? I came here yesterday to read a good comic and got all the way through first blood part 1 i guess, and ended up at this page? I read a few comments but i’m still confused. Finish the 2nd novel or whatever this is. I’m loving RAGE kicking ass and stuff. Also, is there an actual movie going to be made on last blood? If so don’t be a pussy, go for RATED R shit and make it cool, and DON’T HIRE UWE BOLL TO DIRECT.

  192. Lord Dorando Says:

Hey, just finished reading this comic. The word vampire was all i needed to see to start on reading it. I see a lot of comments about a movie? If you do make one please make it gory but realistic…I would pay 15 bucks (regular around here is 5.50 w/o any drinks/popcorn) to see a movie that does the “vampire” and “zombie” genre proud. You’re story has an excellent viewpoint on how this could actually happen! Please don’t abandon this comic…come back if you aren’t busy! PLEASE!!!

  193. Lord Dorando Says:

P.S. I liked the Chronicles of Riddick no matter what anyone says about it.

  194. KennyC. Says:

Alright, I’ve had this page on my bookmarks for a long while, since the first Graphic Novel was still in the rough beginnings. It’s been around four months now since there’s been any update here, so I’m moving on. I understand you might be busy, but update the page with a three sentence blurb from time to time at least, maybe a picture of the work with the movie that you’re so busy with. 15 minutes of your time to do that. Take care.

  195. Bobby Crosby Says:

I’ve obviously done that in the comments and it would take far less than 15 minutes of your time to at least read MY comments on this page. And wow, you even posted this same nonsense before on this page and then I responded right away and you still didn’t even bother to read what I said.

I 100% honestly DO NOT KNOW when the comic will update or have any idea what that schedule will be when it does so. It’s very possible that I’ll start writing 10 pages a month at any moment, and it’s also very possible that there won’t be any new pages for another few months still. And as I’ve said a million times on this page, I’m not busy with the movie in any conceivable way, and it seems to me like no one is.

  196. Lerron Atris Says:

    WOW… just fucking wow.
It has been a long time since I have read a comment thread this rife with idiocy. Also Bobby I find your complete honesty and frankness in your
comments to be refreshing and all too often absolutely hilarious. While I admit that at times the story an characters were a little shaky they were not as bad as you make out and were more than made up for by the pure unadulterated originality of the concept.
So while I realize that the next pages may be a long time coming I will not be giving up on Last Blood anytime soon, the comments alone are worth checking the site every few weeks if nothing else.

  197. Tanaar Says:

I concur with Lerron Atris. Knew you weren’t working on the movie Bobby, but hadn’t picked up that no one was busy. Damn I hate how Hollywood buys up every good idea and then does nothing with it.

  198. Bobby Crosby Says:

No worries. I can do whatever I want with it again in a few months.

  199. bob the mob Says:

Always a laugh a minute with you Bobby. Thanks for the hundred-odd pages of Twilight For Guys. Fun read; however, like everything you’ve done, you lost interest three-quarters of the way through and slapped together a half-assed ending. Also, once again the hilarious rapid frothing at comments that come even remotely close to being negative, often when they are simply offering constructive criticism, or just asking a question.

  200. Bobby Crosby Says:

You obviously have no idea what constructive criticism is — there’s been maybe three cases of that in the history of these comments and every time I’ve taken their advice and thanked them profusely. And if the question is “Why are you such a piece of shit asshole?” then yes, I’m not a fan of those.

  201. bob the mob Says:

    OK.

The story meanders after the first third. Towards the end it becomes so convoluted you resorted to simply telling what happened in a long, boring flashback.

The characters are just stereotypes of what you see in every mediocre survival-horror movie. There’s no connection between the characters and the readers; when the little boy was killed, what should have been a tragic moment was cheapened by the fact that prior to the event he’d had four or five lines of dialog.

The origins of the zombie horde are original. Unfortunately, we are, once again, just told how it went down over two pages. No foreshadowing, no suspense; just “here’s what happened”.

The whole story could have been a lot more. However, as it stands, it needs a huge amount of editing.

  202. Kemoc Says:

    Bobby,

You have put so much effort into this, for which I thank you greatly, was a wonderful distraction on a Sat afternoon at work, and Owens work just seems to improve from page to page. I hope you will continue the story, after all, for all the derisive comments there are in the various postings, there are 100 times more praising your efforts. Your second book seems to be shaping up nicely, and would be a terrible thing not to know how things progress. I would love to see a movie, but with the way that industry works I’m not holding my breath. But I hope you’ll not let any disappointment with how things are going there reflect on these pages, you have a lot of dedicated fans, of which I am one of the newest, hoping against hope you’ll return to this. In the meantime I will pick up a physical copy of the first story, proud to have it in my collection.

  203. An Actual Fan Says:

Hhmmm…. I dunno, I’m starting to wonder if the comic even NEEDS to eb updated at this point…
The sheer entertainment value of everyone’s whining about Bobby, and the feel-good sensation of seeing kind comments is more than enough to check back twice a week….

I’m too tired for any more (almost) witty banter or to say anything constructive at this point.
    Keep on rocking

  204. Will Says:

thunderstruck to why people are still leaving comments on this comic…. sketch something real quick… l0l. draw a vampire fucking a coconut l0l… used to be a good comic… keep up the doing nothing work l0l
God bless and long live this page l0l

  205. Pahua Says:

Bobby…honestly, I’ve liked your work since I discovered Sore Thumbs. I know that the life of a webcomic dude is probably hellaciously busy, so I’m not going to bitch about the lack of updates, but rather commend your replies to this pile of…comments. Anyhoo…don’t get discouraged, please. I really liked this comic’s originality and where you went with it (including the tip of the hat to WICKEDPOWERED…or is it the other way around?). So, keep up the strong work. Tip of the hat to Owen as well…

    See you space cowboy.

(P.S. – the douche who called this “Twilight for Guys” can go kill himself. Seriously. Associating a work of this ingenuity with a Mary Sue-Gary Stu-Festival like Twilight is something like burying a razor blade in an apple with the intention to give that apple to a neighborhood child.)

  206. Bobby Crosby Says:

Thanks, buddy. I’m not involved in “Sore Thumbs” other than writing a couple strips. And yes, it was the other way around — LB first. Also, I’d love for everyone to think of this as “Twilight for Guys,” even though I haven’t read the books or seen the movie, just based on popularity obviously.

  207. Arkus Says:

I hope the movie(whenever that may be) is at least 1/2 as good as the comic. Seeing as it was originally meant to be a movie, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s just as good.

I love how some people complaining about Bobby being a total dick to his fans when really he’s not. I mean wouldn’t you get tired of answering the same question over and over again when it’s right there in the comments. Ctrl + f is not hard to do people.

If I’m just another person repeating the same thing over again, excuse me. I’m quite the hypocrite.

  208. Sho Minamimoto Says:

Bobby, you should be ashamed of yourself for not posting an update in such a long time. For you seem to be the only person in existence to have done something like this. I am absolutely appalled by the way you treat your readers who demand updates; for they are the ones who decide what you do with your projects.

(By the way, this is sarcasm for those of you who don’t really know much about it.)

  209. Arkus Says:

Hm, now that I’ve actually had a cup of coffee and reread what I posted, I’m kinda wishing there was “delete comment” or “edit comment” on here.

  210. Netrogo Says:

May as well leave my two cents. Of all the comics I read I can honestly say this is one of the very few I’ve never had glimmer of criticism for. It’s a shame it’s been awol for so long but nothing to do about that. I’ve read comics that update anywhere from daily to once a year, and I still check all of them regularly. This one won’t be any different.

I’ll admit, I’m another who skimmed the comments so I might be missing something. Frankly the people griping about updates need to get over it. It’s a free comic, complaining about not getting it on a regular basis would be like going to the comic book shop and whining about the lack of ‘free comic book day’ comics every day.

Anyways great comic Bobby. If it never updates again that’ll be a shame, but atleast a hell of a run. I’ll still be checking back infrequently in the hopes of seeing more. Thanks either way for the entertainment.

  211. An Actual Fan Says:

Bobby isn’t a dick to his fans, he’s a dick to the people who call him a dick for not updating :-P
Not that I at all think it’s his reason for it, but he’s gonna eb pegged a dick by douchebags whether he updates or not, so he may as well cater and be a dick to them.

Maybe if they all apologize, he’ll update.

I swear this isn’t a test for the monkeys leaving comments *suspicious cough*

  212. Phantom Says:

Just as an update…it’s been 5 months and 11 days since a comic has been put up here…I wonder if we’ll get to six months.

    164 days…Half a year is about 183…

  213. Diana Says:

Okay…well I totally found this comic like literally 4 days ago, and have read through from the beginning. Man this stuff is good. I love the story, I love the characters, I love the artwork…the only thing that worries me is the fact that Hollywood seem horribly incapable of making a good horror, much less a good zombie/vampire movie. Dont let em butcher your work, shoot who you have to.

    Cant wait for the updates.

  214. Ifer Says:

I was reading the comments, wondering (like most people) why there hadn’t been a comic update for a while, and I’d just like to say thank you.

Thank you for taking the time and effort to make this storyboard/comic, and thank you for sharing it with us. Regardless of what you feel is bad writing, or the limitations of the current format, I really enjoy Last Blood.

I’m sorry that you’re having problems with stupid people.

    ~ Ifer

  215. foolishworld Says:

Thanks for touching base here from time to time Bobby.Too bad Hollywood sucks & all.I was hoping you guys had more control over the making of a “LAST BLOOD” movie.I have no idea how that works.Still,I’ll be checking back for any updates to one of my favorite stories:LAST BLOOD !!! (see you guys next month)

  216. KracKin Says:

killer comic man, just read every page, love the art and concept of the story … wicked original, hopefully the movie doesn’t get the Daredevil treatment!

    Peace!

  217. Arkus Says:

You know, he did say it might take 18-24 months.
