More Movie News
Monday, July 28th, 2008David A. Goodman is a good man. He’s been nominated for a million Emmys and so on and so forth — use Google.
Just got back from the San Diego Comic-Con. Went very well, sold tons of books.
Been busy and concentrating on launching new comics recently, among other reasons for not much Last Blood lately. New page who knows when. We’ll finish the second graphic novel eventually, but it might take 18-24 months.
Also, there should be even more movie news very soon. If not, I’ll be quite frustrated.

OK.
The story meanders after the first third. Towards the end it becomes so convoluted you resorted to simply telling what happened in a long, boring flashback.
The characters are just stereotypes of what you see in every mediocre survival-horror movie. There’s no connection between the characters and the readers; when the little boy was killed, what should have been a tragic moment was cheapened by the fact that prior to the event he’d had four or five lines of dialog.
The origins of the zombie horde are original. Unfortunately, we are, once again, just told how it went down over two pages. No foreshadowing, no suspense; just “here’s what happened”.
The whole story could have been a lot more. However, as it stands, it needs a huge amount of editing.

Bobby,
You have put so much effort into this, for which I thank you greatly, was a wonderful distraction on a Sat afternoon at work, and Owens work just seems to improve from page to page. I hope you will continue the story, after all, for all the derisive comments there are in the various postings, there are 100 times more praising your efforts. Your second book seems to be shaping up nicely, and would be a terrible thing not to know how things progress. I would love to see a movie, but with the way that industry works I’m not holding my breath. But I hope you’ll not let any disappointment with how things are going there reflect on these pages, you have a lot of dedicated fans, of which I am one of the newest, hoping against hope you’ll return to this. In the meantime I will pick up a physical copy of the first story, proud to have it in my collection.

Hhmmm…. I dunno, I’m starting to wonder if the comic even NEEDS to eb updated at this point…
The sheer entertainment value of everyone’s whining about Bobby, and the feel-good sensation of seeing kind comments is more than enough to check back twice a week….
I’m too tired for any more (almost) witty banter or to say anything constructive at this point.
Keep on rocking

Bobby…honestly, I’ve liked your work since I discovered Sore Thumbs. I know that the life of a webcomic dude is probably hellaciously busy, so I’m not going to bitch about the lack of updates, but rather commend your replies to this pile of…comments. Anyhoo…don’t get discouraged, please. I really liked this comic’s originality and where you went with it (including the tip of the hat to WICKEDPOWERED…or is it the other way around?). So, keep up the strong work. Tip of the hat to Owen as well…
See you space cowboy.
(P.S. – the douche who called this “Twilight for Guys” can go kill himself. Seriously. Associating a work of this ingenuity with a Mary Sue-Gary Stu-Festival like Twilight is something like burying a razor blade in an apple with the intention to give that apple to a neighborhood child.)

Thanks, buddy. I’m not involved in “Sore Thumbs” other than writing a couple strips. And yes, it was the other way around — LB first. Also, I’d love for everyone to think of this as “Twilight for Guys,” even though I haven’t read the books or seen the movie, just based on popularity obviously.

I hope the movie(whenever that may be) is at least 1/2 as good as the comic. Seeing as it was originally meant to be a movie, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s just as good.
I love how some people complaining about Bobby being a total dick to his fans when really he’s not. I mean wouldn’t you get tired of answering the same question over and over again when it’s right there in the comments. Ctrl + f is not hard to do people.
If I’m just another person repeating the same thing over again, excuse me. I’m quite the hypocrite.

Bobby, you should be ashamed of yourself for not posting an update in such a long time. For you seem to be the only person in existence to have done something like this. I am absolutely appalled by the way you treat your readers who demand updates; for they are the ones who decide what you do with your projects.
(By the way, this is sarcasm for those of you who don’t really know much about it.)

Hm, now that I’ve actually had a cup of coffee and reread what I posted, I’m kinda wishing there was “delete comment” or “edit comment” on here.

May as well leave my two cents. Of all the comics I read I can honestly say this is one of the very few I’ve never had glimmer of criticism for. It’s a shame it’s been awol for so long but nothing to do about that. I’ve read comics that update anywhere from daily to once a year, and I still check all of them regularly. This one won’t be any different.
I’ll admit, I’m another who skimmed the comments so I might be missing something. Frankly the people griping about updates need to get over it. It’s a free comic, complaining about not getting it on a regular basis would be like going to the comic book shop and whining about the lack of ‘free comic book day’ comics every day.
Anyways great comic Bobby. If it never updates again that’ll be a shame, but atleast a hell of a run. I’ll still be checking back infrequently in the hopes of seeing more. Thanks either way for the entertainment.

Bobby isn’t a dick to his fans, he’s a dick to the people who call him a dick for not updating 😛
Not that I at all think it’s his reason for it, but he’s gonna eb pegged a dick by douchebags whether he updates or not, so he may as well cater and be a dick to them.
Maybe if they all apologize, he’ll update.
I swear this isn’t a test for the monkeys leaving comments *suspicious cough*

Just as an update…it’s been 5 months and 11 days since a comic has been put up here…I wonder if we’ll get to six months.
164 days…Half a year is about 183…

Okay…well I totally found this comic like literally 4 days ago, and have read through from the beginning. Man this stuff is good. I love the story, I love the characters, I love the artwork…the only thing that worries me is the fact that Hollywood seem horribly incapable of making a good horror, much less a good zombie/vampire movie. Dont let em butcher your work, shoot who you have to.
Cant wait for the updates.

I was reading the comments, wondering (like most people) why there hadn’t been a comic update for a while, and I’d just like to say thank you.
Thank you for taking the time and effort to make this storyboard/comic, and thank you for sharing it with us. Regardless of what you feel is bad writing, or the limitations of the current format, I really enjoy Last Blood.
I’m sorry that you’re having problems with stupid people.

killer comic man, just read every page, love the art and concept of the story … wicked original, hopefully the movie doesn’t get the Daredevil treatment!
Peace!

You know, he did say it might take 18-24 months.
