Page 106: Nowhere to Run
Friday, November 30th, 2007Great job by artist Owen Gieni on this page. Really appreciate the hard work he’s been doing to finish up this first graphic novel in style and on time.

Ok… this IS torture for Rage.
November 30th, 2007 at 3:38 am
First? XD
Gotta say, I love how you have humour in the situations where one would not see any.
Lol @ Rage. That’s a helluva lot of chain. :3
Great stuff!
November 30th, 2007 at 3:38 am
Cowards… they should have freed Rage
November 30th, 2007 at 3:41 am
I don’t want to be the zombie that has to open *that* present
November 30th, 2007 at 3:44 am
Man, you just know when Rage gets outta there he’s going to go mental!
Guessing that other dark crowd is Sullivan’s zombies? And what the hell is Devian going to do!?!?
November 30th, 2007 at 3:46 am
“Guessing that other dark crowd is Sullivan’s zombies?”
Gotta start looking at the sketches. The sketches answer tons of questions and today’s sketch very specifically answers that one.
November 30th, 2007 at 4:03 am
to be honest.. as much as I love the look of the comic.. I’d gamble on that you could make a few pennies by selling a “limited edition original MSPaintMash LastBlood” just containing your paintmashes… as a kind of supplement to the propper artwork
November 30th, 2007 at 4:03 am
Hehe, “big ball of rage”.
And the sketch makes the outcome seem less bleak, but huge zombie battle FTW!
November 30th, 2007 at 4:04 am
With every update I love this story more and more. The art is just fantastical and the story always leaves me hanging on for more. I only had one nit-pick (and it really isn’t that important), but the woman behind Mac in the sixth panel, isn’t that Murdo’s grandmother? Or am I wrong in that assumption? When Matherson gave a run-down of who was in the building, he only mentioned one older lady – and that was Murdo’s grandmother, who died of a coronary?
Please correct me if I’m wrong and don’t come down on me too harshly if I am incorrect. Again, I absolutely love the story and art. I only wish I had the talent you both possess!
November 30th, 2007 at 4:07 am
Woot. 7th comment (I think)
Things are really starting to heat up now. Awesome work.
November 30th, 2007 at 4:11 am
sweet, the questions I had were answered in the sketch.
thanks Bobby.
November 30th, 2007 at 4:14 am
First?
Great Idea to tie Rage up like a piniata….
November 30th, 2007 at 4:14 am
Aww damn, I can’t wait to see how Sullivan Davis… in more detail than just a black spot
Good job, guys, as always!
November 30th, 2007 at 4:19 am
RAge is just sittin there going “well shit”. Its Christmas in…well, its already fucking December, but its CHristmas come early and no one got him anything.
November 30th, 2007 at 4:20 am
*trumpet blares* Sullivan to the rescue!
I’ve gotta say, I’ve absolutely loved the last few pages.
And Rage all bundled up in chains adds a great edge of humor. ;D
November 30th, 2007 at 4:23 am
OH NOZEZ!!
Another great comic. And so soon! Great job. Waiting for the next one.
November 30th, 2007 at 4:24 am
Well, I gotta say – Zombies reaching to grab Murdo and Grady make a sweet touch to the page! Excelent job gentelmen!
I counted about 50 dots (plus Rage in chains and Devian), but I guess its nothing, cause lot of people/vamps carry others on their back. I know its not important right now – but I am totally curious about the current numbers of people. I wonder will it ever be told…
Oh.. and Anko – you were 100% about your 76% chance of not beeing the first one to post. You ought to bet 40$ on this
Take care!
November 30th, 2007 at 4:30 am
“I only had one nit-pick (and it really isn’t that important), but the woman behind Mac in the sixth panel, isn’t that Murdo’s grandmother? Or am I wrong in that assumption?”
Uh, extremely wrong on multiple levels, yes.
“When Matherson gave a run-down of who was in the building, he only mentioned one older lady – and that was Murdo’s grandmother, who died of a coronary?”
So confused. He mentioned Murdo’s mom and said she was in the gym, and during that scene, as seen on Pages 18, 19, 20 and 21, we see the lady on Page 106, and she even asks Math a question. There was never a mention of Murdo’s grandma and I don’t understand the “he only mentioned one older lady” part — doesn’t make any sense to me. As if he’s supposed to give a rundown of all the old ladies or something? You can also see on Page 55 that Murdo’s mom looks nothing like this lady here.
The quality of these “nit-picks” lately is rather insane. Stuff that it takes two seconds to just look back at previous pages and see the facts.
November 30th, 2007 at 4:33 am
I do hope that Rage will get to have his fun. He’s just a big ball of zombie-killing goodness waiting to have a good time.
November 30th, 2007 at 4:50 am
Thank you, Mr Crosby for correcting me and not being harsh about it. I apologize for being wrong.
November 30th, 2007 at 4:52 am
I had wondered about that lil speck in front of the others too till i looked at the sketch. XD That was before I read comments too. I think Bobby suggested or mentioned on a previous page that the sketches contain a lot of answers to questions.
I have one thing to say about this page… KICK ASS!!! XD Oh and I got a kick out of the ‘big ball of rage’ in the sketch. LOL cute!
November 30th, 2007 at 4:53 am
Ren: No problem. Glad you like the comic.
November 30th, 2007 at 4:54 am
Ha! And I was worried the TFZ’s death would kill the excitement.
This is starting off as a well written follow-up of a very pivotal climax. Big Kudos, Mr. Crosby, Kudos.
I have to admit, I prefer your original MS Paint sketch dialog for April: “I had to do it! I couldn’t let him play God anymore!†Just that little extra dialogue gives her a lot more character and adds weight to her big decision. In the current version, she comes off a little guilty and whiny.
I’ve got a question. (And if it has been answered before, I apologize, but I don’t have enough time to read every comment entry.) Did Sullivan Davis have to bite and kill thousands of people to form his army?
November 30th, 2007 at 5:00 am
“I prefer your original MS Paint sketch dialog for April”
Changed it for a few reasons, mostly because it just seemed unrealistic for her to say so much like that while RUNNING FOR HER LIFE AND KNOWING SHE’S ABOUT TO DIE along with every other human on Earth. I almost just had her say nothing actually. Five syllables seems believable, though. I also didn’t want to cover up more of the nice detailed background that Owen illustrated.
“In the current version, she comes off a little guilty and whiny.”
As it should be. She’s responsible for all of the kids dying basically, is what she’s thinking. She’s looking for some sort of absolution before her rapidly approaching moment of death.
“Did Sullivan Davis have to bite and kill thousands of people to form his army?”
Only HAD to bite one, of course, and then control his zombies to bite others, you know. Not sure how many he bit himself. A sequel might reveal that answer.
November 30th, 2007 at 5:02 am
Gotta love last blood =D
Can’t wait to see how they get out of this one =p
November 30th, 2007 at 5:06 am
What’s in the freaking suitcase???
November 30th, 2007 at 5:14 am
ok, just taking a wild guess here, but would Sullivan’s zombies be, well, better? they have their leader while the other 3 million don’t have a leader. and i think maybe Sullivan’s 3000 might even have guns or something, because you said that zombies under the control of their first zombie can do anything that they could when they were alive, so maybe they are ex-military, and theres really nothing stopping them to get weapons or ammo, right?
just speculations, great comic bobby
sorry if someones already thought of this
thanks
November 30th, 2007 at 5:19 am
“What’s in the freaking suitcase???”
Cure for vampirism
“Oh.. and Anko – you were 100% about your 76% chance of not beeing the first one to post. You ought to bet 40$ on this
Take care!”
I have never been so disappointed to be proven right. And I bet 40$ on the next page being awesome, hah.
November 30th, 2007 at 5:25 am
What do Brains taste like?
November 30th, 2007 at 5:40 am
“What’s in the freaking suitcase???â€
Cure for vampirism”
…plus AFP change of underwear, toothbrush and latest Playboy. or Buffy DVD
Sullivan comes to the rescue, and on the last page.. WHAM! he and his Zs kill all, so we won’t have to get another sweet Hollywood piece of crap. And just before the end credits S goes all “MWAHAHAHAHAAH!!!!”
November 30th, 2007 at 6:15 am
Owen forgot to put the dead principal Howard/MM at the roof
November 30th, 2007 at 6:22 am
Hee hee…a big bundle of Rage and Sully’s Saviors and Francis’ Freaks meeting in all out reanimated corpse war…I love your sketches! I love your comic!
November 30th, 2007 at 6:23 am
Know what I’d pay money for? Well, I’d pay money for a lot. I’m hoping to get Last Blood for Christmas, so I can hold the awesome pages in my hands. I’ve got the download, but it’s so…intangible.
Anyway, Bobby, I would LOVE to have a compendium of all your MSPaint sketches. They’re a real insight into the creative process, absolutely hilarious to read sometimes, and often make me really grateful for how good Owen is. An unique too! I don’t know of any other artists who do this AND share it with their readers. Any chance you’ll make THAT a WOWIO download soon?
November 30th, 2007 at 6:24 am
Ok, taking a wild guess (here goes nothing)!
If my memory still serves me well I recall someone saying that the content in the suitcase will turn one of the vampires back into human, am I right?
So, if I think romantically, it will be used on Math so that he and April can play Adam and Eve if they manage to stay alive that is…
Then I got the idea if it can be used on Sullivan to make him vulnerable? But then all the zombies would go nuts and with no control will probably kill everyone.. but then again Sully can make them not kill everyone cause April is his granddaughter, but thou he’s evil he doesn’t give a finger about it?
Hmmmm… that’s about it, I’m at work and tired as hell, so if I wrote to much rubbish feel free to B-slap me all you want.
Anyway, been reading the comic from the start and I totally love it, finally got the guts and will to say something
November 30th, 2007 at 6:27 am
Oh, and one more question:
Why does it say “Sully’s Saviors” in the sketch… isn’t he like evil? Or does it say Saviors because he’ll probably kill Francis’s army to keep April safe?
Questions, questions, ideas ideas… got to many of them in my head, sorry xD
November 30th, 2007 at 6:28 am
Love the expressions in the second panel and the third shows exactly how fast those damn zombies can move when they smell food.
November 30th, 2007 at 6:30 am
Oh, and one more thing (sorry, I’ll never post again after this one, promise):
I remember Addison giving Devian a task if things get hopeless. Is she fulfilling the task right now by taking with her the two youngest (a boy and a girl she’s holding in her arms) somewhere to safety so that the human race can live on if the grounded folks get wiped out?
November 30th, 2007 at 6:31 am
Awesome, and holy shit it’s raining outside. This is gonna be a good day ^^ Loved how Rage was wrapped up. I’d hate to get that present though.
November 30th, 2007 at 6:36 am
Sullivan’s Army to save the day! Yes Yes yes… “Smart” zombies under Sullivan’s control vrs dumb zombies which won’t even attack his
This is going to be one hell of a battle
November 30th, 2007 at 6:38 am
I think the ‘flow’ of the zombies on the right is a bit off. Murdo was the last one to leave, and the zombies only started to walk around the building at that point. Aside from a few zombies dropping out of the broken window, the backside should be empty. (Now it looks like the school was dropped on top of the zombies)
I spot a lone zombie in front of the left group of zombies… now who could that be
November 30th, 2007 at 6:52 am
“I spot a lone zombie in front of the left group of zombies… now who could that be”
“I am Sullivan Davies. And I see a whole army of my countryzombies,
here in defiance of tyranny! You have come to fight as free zobies. And
free zombies you are! What will you do without freedom? Will you fight?”
“Three thousand against tens?” – the veteran shouted. “No! We will
run – and (not)live!”
“Yes!” Davies shouted back. “Fight and you may die (well, again). Run and you will (not)live at least awhile. And dying in your bed many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for
one chance, just one chance, to come back here as young zombies and tell
our enemies that they may take our “lives” but they will never take
our brainz!”
November 30th, 2007 at 7:08 am
hly crap, someone called Rage being a bundke of chains but just seeing it is to awesome
November 30th, 2007 at 7:11 am
i wondered who the last human in the room would be … poor poor rage chained forever forgotten abandoned and really really pissed …if they survive this day (and spoilers indicate they do) looking forward to the prequels and sequels to come ….
November 30th, 2007 at 7:12 am
Marisz, you should stop watching LOTR over and over again…
“Sullivan’s Army to save the day! Yes Yes yes… “Smart†zombies under Sullivan’s control vrs dumb zombies which won’t even attack his
This is going to be one hell of a battle
”
Yeah, if I remember right, Bobby said that zombies can tell what’s food and what’s not. Since they ignore the vampires, they should ignore the other zombies, maybe they won’t even try to defend themselves!!
November 30th, 2007 at 7:25 am
Now wouldn’t it be funny if they forget about Rage… and 65 years from now they have to go through all this again with him?
November 30th, 2007 at 7:29 am
Krasno, try “Braveheart”. If you are old enought to remember it
And SD will have his face painted white and blue. And red, since he’s US
Remembering the zombies in armour the meeting of SD pack and “the other team” might look like NFL finals. And MM head will be the egg
November 30th, 2007 at 7:31 am
Ha ha . . . I love the brief glimpse of the giant pile in the last panel.
This was a great page. Most of them are good, but I really like this one.
November 30th, 2007 at 7:41 am
Hey, is the movie of this going to be animated or live actors. I love the perspective work on these frames. very nice.
-Mike
November 30th, 2007 at 8:31 am
The reaction of the vampires and humans to Sullivan should be interesting. I think Bobby said that none of them know that he’s on their side.
November 30th, 2007 at 8:35 am
XD Poor Rage. Is he gonna break free and kick zombie ass wrestler style? In any way at all?
November 30th, 2007 at 8:36 am
“Sully’s Saviors” VS “Francis’ Freaks” I love it.
November 30th, 2007 at 8:59 am
So actually chain gang can move in these heavy armors without control of TFZ. Nice. There will be epic medieval battle
One of my favourite pages. Owen is a pencil and paper god – it’s rare to see so much depth and attention to detail. I especially like the transparent glass effect! I wish i could draw like this guy.
Page is well scripted, the idea with big ball of rage is hilarious! Good thing that there isn’t much talking, it really helps to fell the insane speed of these moments. I bet that it’s only about 10-15 seconds from the first panel to the last.
November 30th, 2007 at 9:04 am
I think the coolest part is the way the pile o’ zombie bodies is seen at the back of the school in the last panel…. so freakin cool.
November 30th, 2007 at 9:10 am
It was a trap!
Where’s admiral Ackbar when you need him?
November 30th, 2007 at 9:32 am
I’m looking forward to the “Huh?” Look on the faces of most of these characters when the 3000 zombies rush right on past them.
November 30th, 2007 at 9:42 am
Very nice. I love how Sullivan’s blip is at the forefront of the 3000 zombies. It kinda has a 300 zombie-style feel to it. Sullivan’s of course being the zombie alternative to the Spartans.
I do have a question, for the zombies to refrain from attacking the humans, is that an all the time concentrated effort, or is it like Simon says and they don’t do anything different until Simon says?
November 30th, 2007 at 9:54 am
I really like how the last panel on both this page and the previous page show a zoomed out view. It’s going to work very well in print.
November 30th, 2007 at 10:13 am
Whoa shit.
That last panel is awesome.
November 30th, 2007 at 10:15 am
Ok… this IS torture for Rage.
my thoughts exactly, poor rage so many zonbies and he can’t fight any
after I viewed the sketch I looked at the comic again and than I saw several things that I din’t see before[was reaeding to fast] and I MUST say: love this page, can’t wait till next one(y)(y)
November 30th, 2007 at 10:20 am
Here’s an offbeat question; I noticed in the draft you put a girl with a pony tail flaying about on Mac’s back and the final had a boy instead. Obviously it’s not important but I am curious what goes into making that kind of change in the drawing process.
November 30th, 2007 at 10:22 am
I stayed up until 4:30am my time (Central) and an hour after I finally go to bed, the page gets posted.
Soooo not fair. *le sigh*
November 30th, 2007 at 10:25 am
Love it!
I’m going to bet that whatever Rage said, muffled through chains, wasn’t ”Sure!” Four-lettered though…
As for MM on the roof, maybe they took him off. (Or tossed him over the side.) Perhaps Grady felt a compulsion for another round of ‘hoops’. I can just see him now… “Never liked that SOB anyway.” *swish!*
I hope I’m not stepping on Bobby’s toes, but I’m betting that Sullivan’s army is just as hard to control as TFWLB’s army. Even if they are, I imagine he’ll still be able to do a kick-ass job. Why? Two reasons. 1) He’s Sullivan Davis, and he was a better man than Francis ever was. 2) He only has 3000 to control, and more motivation to boot. I’ll bet he can get his zombies to kick butt and Riverdance at the same time!
November 30th, 2007 at 10:33 am
whatever happened to AFP’s briefcase?
November 30th, 2007 at 10:37 am
I love that last panel, with the wide shot of Devian flying– it looks like someone kicked over an anthill… and those poor humans, stuck in between the two zombie hordes. This is gonna look so bloody awesome in the movie, I think I might pass out from the sheer coolness of it all.
Then again, I feel the same way about the entire comic in general. But hey.
This is an amazing page– even though the pace is starting to pick up rapidly– but that means that each page covers more, and I don’t need to die of suspense!
(Also loving the look on Grady’s face when Murdo grabs him and jumps out the window.)
November 30th, 2007 at 10:56 am
“Owen forgot to put the dead principal Howard/MM at the roof
”
Hey, he is right! Why nobody noticed it? (Or maybe Grady took him to give him proper burial, AKA the dumpster)
November 30th, 2007 at 11:04 am
Yay! We finally get to see the big ball of Rage!
November 30th, 2007 at 11:35 am
Since I’m pretty sure I’m the biggest nerd to actually see the upcoming zombie war turn out like the intro to MK:Armageddon I shall still mention it.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=HcAylFKpeb8
Funny enough there is a zombie that uses chains.
November 30th, 2007 at 11:42 am
Easy way to solve the problem (especially with Sullivan being a military man) would be for him to start shouting “Go Go Go!” and waving the refugees through while his zombies split out around the group and reform behind them to slam into Francis’ horde.
Interesting to see three things next time:
1) How far do the humans need to get away to untrigger the “brains” reflex of leaderless zombies. Sullivan’s only need to stand that long.
2) Do the vampires need to run off carrying the humans to get that far away or do they turn and fight also. Either could be exciting in a movie sense.
3) Are leaderless zombies suck on the “brains” reflex to the extent that they are single minded about it, like they are ignoring the “useless” vampire Rage, which would make them easy meat for Sullivan’s controlled group.
November 30th, 2007 at 12:07 pm
It’s a pity one of the humans didn’t have the time to bleed a little on Rage, to make him smell tasty. But I’m not sure if that would work or not anyway.
November 30th, 2007 at 12:14 pm
wow didn’t realize TFZ controlled half and Sullivan controlled half, now Sullivan will control all the zombies in the world…. hopefully being his grand daughter will make a significance
November 30th, 2007 at 12:56 pm
Uhm, Jae, read other comics… Bobby said only 3000 zombies total are under Sullivan’s control. TFZ had the 6 billion.
November 30th, 2007 at 1:01 pm
Well, so Sullivan controls the really tiny half
I suppose he will rotting and ugly as well, yet more friendly and with good intentions… that would be soooo interesting to see.
Eagerly waiting for the next chapter!!!
November 30th, 2007 at 1:07 pm
Sullivan sure will be proud of April when he hears about what she did
November 30th, 2007 at 1:15 pm
lol poor rage, all chained up and doesn’t get to murder zombies, now THATS torture for rage
honestly though kudos towards both bobby and owen for this series and i hope it pays off for ya dudes and i can’t wait for the sequel if theres goin to be one
and i also can’t wait to see what devian ends up doin
November 30th, 2007 at 1:17 pm
Mmph? Awesome.
November 30th, 2007 at 1:53 pm
Murdo “MOVE, MOVE”, Sounds like a drill sergeant lol. “GET MOVING YOU LAZY MAGGOTS!!”
November 30th, 2007 at 1:59 pm
Ormuz: Very confused. Sullivan’s not evil! He’s the big hero, opposite of Francis. Cure wouldn’t even work on him, since he’s not only a vampire anymore. Wouldn’t want it to work, though — then he’d lose control over his zombies, which they BADLY NEED for protection. And you’re wrong about Devian and the kids as well. Read the previous comments pages, jeez. All of your questions are answered there. Anko’s FAQ also answers them all.
“I think the ‘flow’ of the zombies on the right is a bit off. Murdo was the last one to leave, and the zombies only started to walk around the building at that point.”
Nothing is off, and they’re running, not walking. Panel 1 of 106 is like 20 seconds after Panel 7 of 105. They got the hell out of there FAST obviously.
“I spot a lone zombie in front of the left group of zombies… now who could that be”
Ugh, look at the sketch.
Mariusz: Love it.
“poor poor rage chained forever”
Chained for less than 10 minutes probably, just to let you know. Might be a bit longer.
“Marisz, you should stop watching LOTR over and over again…”
Krasno, post less, ugh.
Michael: Live action.
“I’m looking forward to the ‘Huh?’ Look on the faces of most of these characters when the 3000 zombies rush right on past them.”
Gonna be a bit different than that. Something you should look forward to even more than that.
“for the zombies to refrain from attacking the humans, is that an all the time concentrated effort, or is it like Simon says and they don’t do anything different until Simon says?”
All the time concentrated effort, yeah — not easy.
“I noticed in the draft you put a girl with a pony tail flaying about on Mac’s back and the final had a boy instead. Obviously it’s not important but I am curious what goes into making that kind of change in the drawing process.”
Just a choice by Owen, which I was perfectly fine with in this case, especially considering how great his art was on this page. It really didn’t matter to me if it was a boy or a girl.
“I’ll bet he can get his zombies to kick butt and Riverdance at the same time!”
Well, all he has to do is tell them to . . . nah, won’t spoil it.
“whatever happened to AFP’s briefcase?”
To all the people asking this, I have a question for you: Do you see where it says in big bold letters in the last panel of this page “THE END”??? That means the story’s over. Oh, wait, you don’t see that? Guess that means the story’s NOT over. Also, feel free to do a damn Google search for the trillion answers I’ve given to that question before.
“Easy way to solve the problem (especially with Sullivan being a military man) would be for him to start shouting ‘Go Go Go!’ and waving the refugees through while his zombies split out around the group and reform behind them to slam into Francis’ horde.”
Easiest and most boring!
“wow didn’t realize TFZ controlled half and Sullivan controlled half, now Sullivan will control all the zombies in the world…”
Uh, no to all that. TFZ controls zero now and Sullivan controls 3,000 while over 5,000,000,000 are leaderless. Impossible to transfer control of zombies, as I’ve said a trillion times.
“hopefully being his grand daughter will make a significance”
No clue what you mean.
“and i also can’t wait to see what devian ends up doin”
LOL, I think you guys are gonna be pretty surprised by what happens in 107.
November 30th, 2007 at 2:14 pm
Thanks for the answer Bobby. I wasn’t sure whether or not I was asking a question that had already been answered.
Surprised by 107!? This is intriguing(sp). I definately can’t wait until the next page.
I like how the huge pile of bodies is still in the picture ^_^.
November 30th, 2007 at 2:18 pm
Oh, I guess Grady has already changed his mind about killing every Vampire in sight? Or maybe he’s just in total shock, and isn’t thinking about that vow anymore.
November 30th, 2007 at 2:35 pm
Grady never wanted to kill vampires.
On page http://www.lastblood.net/main/2007/11/16/page-100-the-oath/ he said that he wanted to join because he thought it would be a fun place, and didn’t want to kill fictional characters. The only reason why he said the oath probably was to get into the tunnel and “goof off”.
Plus if he wanted to kill the vampires, he could have started the day that Math and Val showed up…
November 30th, 2007 at 2:41 pm
A: HOLY SHITE! Lookit alla’em ZOMBIES!
B: HOLY SHITE! Lookit all’em chains on Rage!
C: HOLY SHITE! Lookit how high Devian is!
D: HOLY SHITE! Lookit how annoying this is getting!
November 30th, 2007 at 2:46 pm
Surprise on page 107…
My guess: Devian loses her grip on the kids.
Just kidding.
Here’s my “real” prediction: It turns out that Moustache Man never died, and all the pages since just prior to his decapitation have actually been an extended dream sequence. We’ll discover this on page 107 when April wakes up, hears someone in the shower, and gets surprised by MM, aptly played by Patrick Duffey.
Aaaaand I need sleep now.
November 30th, 2007 at 2:48 pm
I bet sulivan gave evry zombie a gun to shoot I can imagine 3k of zombies with gunzs and rocket launchers wait what about tanks that would be cool.
November 30th, 2007 at 2:51 pm
I bet Rage is like ” a billion A BILLION, BUT I WANT TO KILL THEM ALL NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO” then he brakes the chains and starts killing them.
if that happens I would roflol ( rolling on floor laughing out loud )

Dear… God… my brain. Just… no. IGOR.
Sweetness and all that. Directions on how to access the FAQ and the sketches might be nice though, unless the FAQ is on the toolbar and has a link to the sketches in it, or some such fiddle faddle and rot. I look forward to the next page, really. I think it’s just speeding along/
November 30th, 2007 at 3:05 pm
Devath: What? There are multiple links to the FAQ on the page that you’re currently looking at and I give a big link to the sketch in every single blog post directly under the comic — there’s even a visual BUTTON that you can see to click on to access the sketch and I tell you to click the button in the blog post. Jeez, just control-F and search for “sketch” and “faq” and the first results will give you what you’re asking! Madness.
November 30th, 2007 at 3:18 pm
“Gotta start looking at the sketches” . . . when this is shipped to comic shops and readers homes do they include the origonal sketches aswell?
November 30th, 2007 at 3:18 pm
Holy shit.
Seriously, if this were a movie, this is where shit gets EPIC.
November 30th, 2007 at 3:23 pm
Devath: Don’t remember the URL for the FAQ, this is damn close though: google.com
And you do as it says to access the sketches. Click the button under the words “Click the button”.
Small group of kickass fighters against a huge group of… not so kickass fighters
Then hit one of the foreign language words and voila, sketch.
Christ…
Also, awesome page. This is serioussly reminding me of 300
November 30th, 2007 at 3:41 pm
Uhh.. I dont know if this has been asked before, but why are many zombies wearing plate armors and helmets?
November 30th, 2007 at 3:45 pm
Random thought here for your movie–New England Patriot hoodie for Murdo, a tribute to “the Hoodie”
November 30th, 2007 at 3:45 pm
I absolutely LOVE Rage in the first panel.
November 30th, 2007 at 3:46 pm
“Seriously, if this were a movie, this is where shit gets EPIC.”
I say there’s an extremely high chance of things getting a lot more epic on the next page.
November 30th, 2007 at 3:52 pm
EEEEE heeheehee awesomesauce
Aww poor Rage!
*anticipates next page*
November 30th, 2007 at 3:54 pm
Yay, another page! ^^ Great as always, I really like this page. And I can’t wait when Rage gets out. He better be ripping some zombies apart and beating them with their own limbs!!
November 30th, 2007 at 4:09 pm
Bobby now I am not sue if I have understood you correctly, but I believe you said Francis was all powerful and that he could see with your dead ass if he wanted to.
I haven’t seen TFZ do anything impressive during his brief screen time. Yes he did take over the world and that in it self is just fucktastical, but I would have liked for him to like throw a tank in the air or something.
Now I might have gotten the wrong impression when you said you said TFZ is all powerful but I have connected that with being super strong and stuff like that.
If what you meant by all powerful is like super strong or flying or w/e please make Sullivan do some crazy shit like smack a tree or a huge rock and it just flies into a group of zombies.
November 30th, 2007 at 4:10 pm
“Big ball of Rage” HA!!!! I love it. “Mmph!”
I’m going to hate it when the current series comes to an end. But I’ll be looking forward to the sequel!
Keep ‘em coming!
Later,
November 30th, 2007 at 4:19 pm
That last frame is incredible. Keep up the good work, guys.
November 30th, 2007 at 4:22 pm
So…this may be a sign of impending mental illness on my part, but I recently got addicted to LOLcats. And then I got addicted to this comic. And instead of one taking over the other, they combined to form a sick new addiction: LOLastBlood.
My first…er…masterpiece: http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l320/Lasergoose/LOLastBloodpage4.jpg
November 30th, 2007 at 4:49 pm
Hmmm… well I guess they’re fubar’d.
November 30th, 2007 at 5:06 pm
I have a question. If multiple Vampires worked to turn a Human together could they give the new Vampire a combination of powers?
November 30th, 2007 at 5:12 pm
“when this is shipped to comic shops and readers homes do they include the origonal sketches aswell?”
No, asshole, but they DO GET TO READ THE ENTIRE COMIC. Someone was asking about SPOILERS, about things that happen LATER, like on THE NEXT PAGE, impatient people wanting to know what happens. Shut the fuck up and get the fuck out.
“but why are many zombies wearing plate armors and helmets?”
Uh, read the comic, where that question is answered multiple times in many ways.
Dan: Misunderstood. I was exaggerating to emphasize that he could do whatever he wants within reason in response to total fucking morons who think that with his powers he shouldn’t even be able to figure out how to FIRE A FUCKING RPG, like that’s too hard to do, among other things.
November 30th, 2007 at 5:15 pm
Bobby has said that it will not happen, so it is unlikely we will find out. He implied that it would be difficult for multiple vampires to turn one human, I we all can imagine several ways.
This same thought applies to vampires baby born to vampire parents.
However, you must also remember the powers tend to get a little weaker when a new vampire is formed, so if Devian and Rage turned on, the vampire could jump really far and be pretty strong, but not as powerful as the parents.
November 30th, 2007 at 5:30 pm
Jesse, wow, that’s hilarious. I never would have thought of combining lolcats and Last Blood, but really, for thinking that up you’re officialy awesome. *awards many cool points*
November 30th, 2007 at 5:58 pm
Tegu, as far as i know from the previous spoilers and Bobby’s explanations, powers get weaker only when human is turned in to vampire. In case of natural born vampire, there’s no powers loss at all, so Devian and Rage kid would have super strenght AND ability to flight. Devian is the last one from flying vampires bloodline, it will be a great loss if she won’t have any children ever.
I wonder why AFP didn’t invent some kind of breeding program or a way to copy powers from other vampires. If LB vampirism is based on genetic mutation or something like that, not on some spirit thing (like in Legacy of Kain games), i think it would be possible for him to enhance vampire kind.
November 30th, 2007 at 6:47 pm
Famous quote: “No organized force is ever outnumbered by a mob.” So even with a few thousand versus several million, Mr. Davis should do fine.
“I wonder why AFP didn’t invent some kind of breeding program”
1) That would be unethical
2) Vamps kinda strike me as individualists most the time, the current level of cooperation is only due to unique circumstances
3) A too-strong vampire group would be a threat to humanity
November 30th, 2007 at 6:58 pm
Can we expect another kickass page within the next day? It sure feels like 65 years of torture to wait for the next page.
November 30th, 2007 at 7:06 pm
Bobby, this page, specially the last panel, is your best so far. EPIC! Seriously, this is in the level of stuff like 300 and LOTR.
Say, at the end of it all, even if they don’t come into play, do we find out what contained the little paper AFP gave Devian with instructions for what to do with the two youngest children? I’m curious as to what his instructions were, and it’d be a pity if that loose end was left untied.
To the guys who talked about how heat can’t be transferred through wood (the last page): This is a comic that features ZOMBIES AND IMMORTAL VAMPIRES. Stop being whiney little bitches about it being unrealistic.
November 30th, 2007 at 7:10 pm
“Thank Sullivan for me.”
It’s what the note says.
November 30th, 2007 at 7:13 pm
“Thank Sullivan for me.â€
LMAO
Thanks… I needed that one.
November 30th, 2007 at 7:24 pm
I have been enjoying this comic more and more with each passing strip.I must say that the next two or three are shaping up to be absolutly astonishing.I’m truely excited. P.S.- bonus points for alliteration in the sketch for this page Bobby.
November 30th, 2007 at 7:31 pm
“No organized force is ever outnumbered by a mob.â€
this is amazingly true in this situation. i can’t help but think that the zombies won’t actually be fighting each other. francis isn’t around so the only thing his zombies think of is “go eat humans”. so i’m guessing that sullivan won’t lose any of his minions at all. i’m sure given enough time he could use them to kill every other zombie on earth with no problem. i’m wondering how sullivan is going to signal them that he’s here to help. next page should be fun.
November 30th, 2007 at 7:43 pm
I would love to see Davis fire a Rocket above the heads of the humans onto the incoming crowd of zombies.
My only question is; Is this introduction of Davis going to be more impressive than when AFP crashed the Airplane into that wave of zombies way back when?
November 30th, 2007 at 7:56 pm
Arilean:
Thanks. I would substitute “awesome” for “kinda weird,” but I appreciate the support! And, as a bonus: http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l320/Lasergoose/LOLastBloodpage30.jpg
November 30th, 2007 at 8:04 pm
Vicky: It’s no joke. Look it up. I’ve said it before and it’s in the FAQ, I think.
Speaker: It’s not really “impressive,” but I like it.
November 30th, 2007 at 8:25 pm
Something else I’ve noticed. In panel 4, April is saying, “I had to do it!” Math is giving her this look like, “Oh yeah, you HAD to do it all right. No matter how bad it was at that point, he was the only thing keeping a horde of zombies from tearing your face off. But you just HAD to do it.”
Later,
November 30th, 2007 at 8:48 pm
Drako 784 (8:14:40 PM): you know I was reading sore thumbs a while ago
Drako 784 (8:14:49 PM): And I saw a character that looked exactly like MM
BobbyC1012 (8:14:59 PM): Yeah, same artist.
Drako 784 (8:15:07 PM): Owen yeah
Drako 784 (8:15:21 PM): it was drawn more cartoonishly, but it was exactly the same
Drako 784 (8:15:37 PM): I think the Sore Thuimbs one came first
BobbyC1012 (8:15:38 PM): Somebody linked to it in the comments.
Drako 784 (8:15:42 PM): not sure though
BobbyC1012 (8:15:43 PM): Twice actually.
BobbyC1012 (8:15:45 PM): Recently.
Drako 784 (8:15:46 PM): yeah?
BobbyC1012 (8:15:55 PM): And I responded and said it was the first time I’ve seen it.
BobbyC1012 (8:16:00 PM): Gotta read the comments.
Drako 784 (8:16:08 PM): I usually skim them
Drako 784 (8:16:18 PM): look at yours and Anko’s
Drako 784 (8:16:22 PM): but not always
Drako 784 (8:16:26 PM): I’ll go llok
Drako 784 (8:16:53 PM): oh wow
Drako 784 (8:16:55 PM): it was me
Drako 784 (8:17:01 PM): I’m an idior
Drako 784 (8:17:04 PM): idiot*
November 30th, 2007 at 10:08 pm
So cool!
November 30th, 2007 at 10:13 pm
Yeah, after I read the FAQ thinking “okay, the real deal”, I see it there and think “ah shit”. I really am eager to see the scene when they read the note.
November 30th, 2007 at 10:35 pm
Just one panel of Devian looking at it — hopefully, if there’s room. Page 110 probably.
November 30th, 2007 at 11:13 pm
o.o how exciting i wonder what the note says…
“lolz!! you ub3r nubs are d34d without me! XD..oh wait..nvm..i guess not..i’m psychic to =D i still r pwnage.”
December 1st, 2007 at 12:08 am
I remember when I first ran into this comic and I’d read it after work, reading the comments as well. But back then there were only 30-60 comments per page. Now it’s like 100+.. insane. Quite the fan-base in a few months.
Grats as always, I’m eager for the Prequel.. I hate to see this end in a few pages though
Oh well. Some movies just up and end in minutes of climax.. or an epic..
Either way, everything is great!
I know Devian has some strength, but seriously.. she’s gonna drop one of those kids.. I know it. LOL!
December 1st, 2007 at 12:40 am
I love the LOLastblood strips. Page is being started now, maybe it’ll be up around Saturday mid-day. Hard to say though.
December 1st, 2007 at 1:47 am
Now what if those two kidlettes that Devian has in her arms turn out to be brother and sister? the world would be doomed anyway…
Great comic you two!
December 1st, 2007 at 2:03 am
Page 107 reveals that they are brother and sister, and there was never a plan for them to repopulate anything.
December 1st, 2007 at 5:37 am
Anko: “I believe that literacy is one of the ways of recognizing an intelligent person on the internet. Go on, hate me for it if you like.†I completely agree. I don’t have the best grammar, but at least I can spell a word that is in the comic and on almost every page of comments. People who post (like the one you corrected and the ass-hat that questioned you) show either lack of intelligence or just extreme laziness. Thanks for working so hard, making the faq, helping Bobby answer questions, putting up with stupid shit from people, and most of all for being the coolest LB fan EVER!
Nessus and everyone else who asked why the stake doesn’t burst into flames on the last page even though Bobby already answered it: The stake only becomes hot when a vampire or TFZ is staked, the heat does not radiate from said creature prior to or during their death, only the stake. Also, the fact that Bobby said the stake “turns white (or was it red?) hot should be explanation enough. He didn’t say it conducted the god damn heat out of the body, he said it became burning hot, end of story. Furthermore, Bobby said it probably will flame in the movie. Also, if wooden stakes can magically kill a fictional being why the hell is it that hard for all of you to accept that it can magically radiate heat while doing so? I mean, it’s all good to consider the physics of something, even in a fictional story, but your question is illogical. Vampires are unnatural or supernatural beings. Their very existence, not to mention their complete physiology, defies nature.
What the fuck makes you think that Unnatural Element + Natural Element = Natural Reaction? That’s just stupidity. Unless you can explain, scientifically, why only wood through the heart can kill a vamp (which you can’t retards), why would you try to explain scientifically the reaction the stake has when it kills them? Plus he answered the goddamn question early and 3 or 4 of you still asked it again on the same fucking page! If you are not going to read all the previous posts at least read the ones on the page you’re posting on.
Bobby: If you make the movie yourself, I will totally drop out of college to be a random zombie.
December 1st, 2007 at 6:00 am
“I spot a lone zombie in front of the left group of zombies… now who could that beâ€
I reckon this was a rethorical question
Congrats with the first place on TWC, it was due.
December 1st, 2007 at 6:27 am
Gah! Waiting for the next page knowing that the comic will end soon sucks : ( geif moar!
December 1st, 2007 at 7:23 am
Can’t wait for the next page. I took today off work, so I’ll probably end up coming on here every couple hours to look for it…
I’m really wondering how Sullivan will announce himself. I can’t see him just running right through the group of vampires (They’d probably take a few swings at passing zombies before they realized they wern’t attacking.)
My guess is they’ll split around them, but it’ll probably be a bit more epic than that…
Jump over them? Impossible, but awesome.
December 1st, 2007 at 8:23 am
“Thanks for working so hard, making the faq, helping Bobby answer questions, putting up with stupid shit from people, and most of all for being the coolest LB fan EVER!”
You’re welcome. Not much else to say to that. Also, I’m glad some people share my views.
“My guess is they’ll split around them, but it’ll probably be a bit more epic than that…
”
Jump over them? Impossible, but awesome.
I bet 30$ on the fact that the zombies will not simply split up around them.
“BobbyC1012 (8:15:38 PM): Somebody linked to it in the comments.
Drako 784 (8:16:55 PM): it was me
Drako 784 (8:17:01 PM): I’m an idior
Drako 784 (8:17:04 PM): idiot*”
That was definitely one of the funniest posts I have read on the comments. Almost as funny as when Vo had a theory about giant ravenous maggots controlled by Chuck Norris saving humanity. Or when Bumtown said “Time to play King of the Zombie Mountain, bitches!” on page 93.
December 1st, 2007 at 9:06 am
Page sent off. Should be up later today. It was fun to draw.
December 1st, 2007 at 9:10 am
Thanks, Owen. I mean, both for the comment and for art that is the visual equivalent of the taste of sirloin steak (this is a very good thing).

Oh, and for the impending new page that you posted about while I was typing that last comment.
December 1st, 2007 at 10:45 am
Damn…just damn.
I can’t wait to see that final panel in full, unliving color.
December 1st, 2007 at 11:53 am
“Time to play King of the Zombie Mountain, bitches!â€
That one was truly epic. I would absolutely love to see Rage saying that in the actual movie as he makes his way to the top.
December 1st, 2007 at 12:26 pm
… and at the end of its incubation period the adult rage emerges from its cacoon as a great big steaming bowl of mental couldn’t kill any zombies and goes on a murderous, legendary rampage. Does not grow wings or look pretty. Please avoid at all costs.
Nice zombie pile against the school. Overhead shot is sweet. There’s one dot out in front of the inbound zombies. Is that … ?
December 1st, 2007 at 12:29 pm
And Mudro + friend as stragglers is a nice detail
December 1st, 2007 at 12:43 pm
…This page probably has the most amusing comments so far.
And it’s also that time again. To go through and pick out panels/pages to edit the text in since Bobby and Owen don’t seem to mind.
=D
I’ll probably be uploading some within the next few days. ^___^
Little internet access, so I can’t, really, until Monday.
December 1st, 2007 at 12:43 pm
Also, that’s supposed to be “Cat”, not “Catt”. My brother’s computer sucks.
December 1st, 2007 at 1:46 pm
yeah… freakin awesome… last blood is #1 on topwebcomics.com. now that is cool.. keep up the great work…
December 1st, 2007 at 2:07 pm
ha, that is freakin awesome, lets try and keep it up there, where it belongs
December 1st, 2007 at 2:20 pm
my guess, sullivan has his zombies armed with guns or RPGS to at the very least slow down the coming horde.
December 1st, 2007 at 2:26 pm
guys, all of you giving your opinions about the comic i have this to say, if you love it, let it be known, but if you have your own ideas on hwo the comic should go or opinions pretty much saying “that sucked” and shit in the same line, seriously, go screw yourself, you don’t have to read it, its bobby and owens work not yours and they can do with it as they want, so
STOP BITCHING DAMN
December 1st, 2007 at 2:30 pm
Well, you know what they say. It’s always darkest before the shit hits the fan. Great comic, guys. And owen, when you drew the comic you didn’t happen to use epic paper, eh?
December 1st, 2007 at 2:50 pm

oh and sorry bout the double post but I have to bring attention to the Rage Paradox.
THE RAGE PARADOX:
Rage loves torture…so torturing him ISN’T really tortue then….but then he’s not being tortured, so he’s being tortured by not being tortured…….AHH PARADOXES MAKE MY HEAD HURT.
December 1st, 2007 at 3:17 pm
I just have to say, besides this being my first comment even though I have read since the beginning (That seems odd to me, bu tI never really had much to say. So I figure why say anything at all.) Bobby, I love this page and Owen the artwork is fantastic, I love the story and the look, it is amazing. I can’t wait to see how this one ends or for the sequel. When, not if this ever gets made into a movie, I have to be in it, every bone in my theater arts body calls out for it. Haha, but seriously guys, great job.

Are you serious? Jeez. Read the comments and look at the sketch!

Baltazaar: Good to see you posting again. Any more old German “facts” about vampires you want to share with us?
