He flew around the world with zombies to drop down and take people out and bombs and everything, and always tons of zombies at his disposal nearby when he'd land a plane and go after survivors himself and so on, of course. It's not tough. No one survived. Networks of tunnels in Switzerland would not stop him in any way from killing them, just like nuclear submarines also wouldn't stop him.  And vampires have zero trouble with smelling things underground.
