Well, they’ve obviously known each other for at least a hundred years, since we just learned that they had sex at some point over a hundred years ago. And twice now in the story it’s been confirmed that Val found/saved him about two weeks ago, so they’ve been trying to save humans for about two weeks.

I wonder if anyone checks old comments? Well, who knows. About vampires breeding, though:

The egg theory is correct, in that the body would run out of it’s supply at some point. There is technically no way for a human body to re-create these eggs, none at all. The eggs are created at conception of the human embryo, so it just seems unlikely that any _healing_ power would _create_ eggs. Makes sense to me anyway, even though bossman has said there’ll be no vampire babies I think.

Though the male fertility remains plausible, you also have to realize that the human body is designed on a very basic level to shut down to core needs, when the body is low on sustinence. For instance, if one of us were to stop eating or drinking, the body would shut down non-essential functions. Reproduction, while valued highly to the human body, is shut down long before self-survival is. Normally anyhow. So, assuming the vampires’ bodies aren’t really 100% sure on WHAT they are anymore, I’m willing to bet that they’re not fertile for sheer virtue of the fact that their bodies are trying to keep them in survive-at-all-costs mode. That would, partially, also explain the vampire’s regeneration rate and advanced strength/powers, but only partially.

Here is a simple solution to vampire breeding confusion:

I have read many a vampire novel, all of them very different. Vampires are interpreted differently by each author, making their abilities subjective.

However, I have frequently seen authors make vampires regard themselves as a different species entirely from humans. I have found that many of a vampire’s more ‘unlikely’ abilities seem to make more sense if one treats them as their own species.

Also, basically every vampire novel involves sex. I don’t know why. Sometimes they are sterile, sometimes not, but I have yet to read a vampire novel that does not have sex or at least a very passionate make-out session.

Still, most people will stick to their own conclusions and not read this, so I won’t bother saying more.

In other news, love the comic! The art is really great, and the writing is quite fun. Keep up the good work.
