Page 21: Not the Devil

I don’t know what my blood type is, and that means I’m going to grow up to be just like Grady.  I wonder when I’ll start liking alcohol and scotch.

Until now this one is my favourite.
I like the comic and I am curious about the film (also about the further development).
It would be great, if I could take part, but it’s too far away.
All the best to your project!

  2. Alex Says:

Hope Mac will be ok. 🙂

  3. OLLLIe Says:

no way dude, macs gonna get rocked by some zombies before
he even knows whats going on

  4. eFFeeMMe Says:

    Vampire’s got mad skillZ! =P
Seriously, that sounds like a bit too much. Hundreds of miles?
This update’s really good anyway – I totally laughed my censor off on Grady saying “Am I?”, great job =P

  5. Conor Says:

Hmm… what if a whole bunch of people moved underground? Not like, tiny underground bunkers, but like miles-down-in-the-earth underground? Not too likley. He could smell those corpses, so probably not.

  6. Lydia Says:

Is that a scar under Math’s eye?

  7. Bobby Crosby Says:

“Is that a scar under Math’s eye?”

I don’t believe so, no. Just kind of looks that way from that angle.

Glad you like the comic, Rene. Thanks.

I’m also hoping Mac will be OK.

Going underground doesn’t help any against these zombies!

“Seriously, that sounds like a bit too much. Hundreds of miles?”

It’s pretty much the only way the story works properly, so I had to do it.  It’s not like anyone knows what vampires can do anyway, but yeah, seems a bit much.

  8. Jeff Says:

Awww… Only one of them is AB like me…

Hehe… Sir, are you the devil?

  9. 078136 Says:

k, do you know whatd be sweet?
    ninja zombies
    agreed?

but seriously, i really wanna see some zombies with
    some sword/nunchuck action goin down

  10. Jeff Says:

    Mix of styles there…

  11. Jimmy Says:

I really like this power you have giving those vampires.

Argh, I shouldn’t come back here till the whole comic collection is on sale or paperbacked. I can’t stand to cliffhang on a juicy story.

Dear Bill, since I don’t think we have that FreeComicBook-day, can I buy a signed copy of the first issue from you? Greetings…

  12. Jimmy Says:

Sigh, I really apologize, I offcourse meant Bobby ….

  13. Bobby Crosby Says:

No problem, and yeah, you can certainly buy one. They’ll be for sale on this site in May, possibly late April. Gonna have to sell a ton of them to help with the film’s budget!

  14. Oliphaunt Says:

So far this comic is rocking my proverbial boxers. Now that that’s out of the way:

The vampires being able to smell blood hundreds of miles away is not unreasonable. Sharks can detect the tiniest amount of blood in water, and it drives them into a frenzy. As well, the vampires might be able to detect blood from hundreds of miles away, but probably not that accurately. More along the lines of “there’s a bunch of humans to the east (west, north, south)!” and as they got closer, they could pick out more details and finally zero in. After all, it is their only food source. And with all other sources gone, and maybe a bit of unsatisfied hunger, their hunting senses would be even keener.

I’m just thinking that would make a lot of sense.

  15. Bobby Crosby Says:

Thanks, Oliphaunt, and yeah, that’s what I was thinking too.

  16. Mr. W x Says:

I’d think that the vampires would be able to pick out that kind of information now because there simply isn’t that much information to process, just a school full of people and Mac, and then zombies.

  17. OLLLIe Says:

im really pumped to see some of the other powers
    the vampires have.
    hopefully there are others….

  18. Reepicheep-chan Says:

    I’m O-! Like, OMGawd!

  19. Preatori0us Says:

Scotch is good, in moderation, so don’t worry if you do start liking it

  20. Arcer Says:

Hmm, just a comment: those blood types should probably all be positive. Aside from A and B and all that fun stuff, there’s Rh factor, Rh- positive and Rh- negative, and very few people are negative.

  21. Tegu Says:

THIS IS THE BEST PAGE SO FAR!

  22. Irrevenant Says:

I’m not sure how you can smell the DIRECTION of blood, which is what you’d need to do to have a radar sense like that…

  23. chris Says:

So scotch and alcohol are now mutually exclusive? Scotch has surpassed the mere title of ‘alcohol’? I do think it has, my good sir. You’ll soon find out why if you start drinking it ;).
